I've only listened to The Death of the Daleks so far, and I loved it. It's such a strong story. I don't see the Davison comparison Digi, sorry. I actually thought this was Frazer's strongest Second Doctor in a long while. This might actually be up there with my favorite Second Doctor stories. Looking forward to hearing the rest.

Halfway through the set and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed both stories. I’ve enjoyed both stories I’ve listened to, but The Phantom Piper just knew all the right boxes to tick for me. I feel like I’m just inclined to like anything that focuses on Jamie’s past… or future… or present… I just really like Jamie I guess!

Maybe I wasn't in the right mindset, but I was completely bored by The Phantom Piper. I kept wanting something to happen. Which is not usual for me, since I tend to like small character pieces and I love Jamie. Hmm, I'll have to listen again sometime.

Caught Phantom Piper today, and dang that was good. I liked Death of the Daleks, but I liked this one much more.
Also, much much happier with Frazer's Troughton in Piper than I was with whatever the heck was going on in Daleks.

I finished this set this morning and I think it's some of the best 2nd Doctor stories we have ever had. Zoe's two stories were fantastic, and the Deepest Tragedian was stellar. What a performance by Richard Unwin as Tom Waugh. He was mesmerizing, and his ability to switch between Tom's different personalities (for want of a better word) was amazing.

Listened to The Prints of Denmark tonight. Fun story. Might've benefited from a little more editing to make it feel like more of a singular story than a series of scenes that were very specifically scenes, but I enjoyed it just the same. And I liked how it felt like more of a Companion Chronicle story, as opposed to the full-cast vibe.

The Death of the Daleks felt very out of place to me - more like a Time War throwback than something from the Second Doctor's era. The Phantom Piper was a nicely driven character piece - listening made me realise just how little of Jamie's pre-Doctor life is documented in general. The Prints of Denmark - despite not being a fan of Rufus Hound (very poor man's Rik Mayall) and his current chronic overuse within Big Finish at the moment I quite enjoyed this. He was a little more restrained than usual and it's probably his best story since The Rise of the New Humans. The Deepest Tragedian - only listened to Part One so far, and enjoying. Nice to have the CC's back overall.

Finished off the set with The Deepest Tragedian this morning. The weakest of the set, IMO, but I still enjoyed it.
Overall quite pleased with this box set.

The Death of the Daleks was a bit underwhelming for me, which is a shame as I usually love George Mann. I got what it was going for, but it felt like it was trying to do something meaningful but without the substance. In the end it was just a rehash of what the show has done for the past 17 years.
I loved The Phantom Piper. A great concept and a cracking bit of backstory for Jamie.
I also loved The Prints of Denmark. Again, a great concept and a lot of fun, brilliantly performed by Wendy Padbury and Rufus Hound. I think this is his best outing since the first Missy set.
The Deepest Tragedian was really sweet in the end, but took a long time to get going. There was no need for part one to be nearly 40 minutes long, particularly as the story concept wore thin quite quickly. I thought the Dalek gun sound effects towards the end were interesting; I was expecting that to come into play more.
Probably the weakest of the Companion Chronicle box sets for me, but the middle two entries were strong and it’s great to have the range back. I hope this isn’t the last we’ll hear of them.

Spend the afternoon painting and listening to this. I like the 2nd Doctor and I also like Frazer's interpretation. Well, the whole set was quite a surprise, especially since I had totally forgotten I had pre-ordered it! I also like to format, it is amazing how much the actors are getting out of these stories which are essentially two-handers but feel like full cast!
Nice stories, I especially liked the first 3 stories, the last one was a bit slow going.
While I am sick and tired of Dalek stories, I treated the first story, but surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it. Bit of a nice twist, but the whole "Doctor feeling guilt for wiping out the Daleks" is not the freshest of ideas, to be honest. The second story was great, providing some nice background for Jamie and also playing with a neat Sci-Fi idea. What surprised me most was maybe the third story. The Monk can be a bit hit and miss, luckily, here he was not too annoying. I also liked the whole meta humour and meta story about the lost Doctor Who episodes. Very well done, very original and fun.
