Definitely very good performances from our slightly different regulars.
Again though discussion will be varied as to success of plot and series objectives (especially the last 15 minutes)

Just listened to the Last story
Excellent Perfomances from the Cast Davros and The Warrior go through character development and they work so well together
Some Really Great and Intriguing ideas and concepts that should have been awesome to explore are ultimately undermined by the ending
The Ending:
The Best thing to say about Doctor of War is that there are so many good ideas that ultimately are squandered in this Miniseries which feel utterly rushed and a confused mess
i really hope we get more Unbound Stories but i hope the writer and script editor decide to properly explore them

I'm wondering if the BBC sent back notes on the pitch that forced a re-think that resulted in the takeaway from the Ending. Regards mark687

Regards mark687 You mean they intentionally and prematurely force Big Finish to end the continuation of The Doctor of War Series and Unbound Range itself despite that it was A- Okay to use established DW Actors like Colin Baker to play alternative versions of their Doctors?
i mean considering that RTD's Era pulled the plug on the Original run of Unbound Audios i sadly would not be surprised to see history repeating itself.

I'm wondering if the BBC sent back notes on the pitch that forced a re-think that resulted in the takeaway from the Ending. Regards mark687 I'm two episodes into Destiny and I'm enjoying the stories very much but I do feel like something's being held back, I don't feel like I've fully got to know the Warrior, with both sets there have been moments that feel like we're actively being steered away from the Warrior, Ep 1.1 Dust Devil had the Sixth Doctor with the Warrior only appearing at the end, Ep 1.2 the Warrior has amnesia, Ep1.3 the Warrior is a medium part of a large cast also featuring a different version of the 6th Doctor, Ep 2.1 the Master is the focus and the Warrior barely appears, Ep2.2 High concept plot with the Master again featuring heavily and only at the end do we see this darker Warrior showing his character. Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed the stories, there's much to admire in the acting and overall production but I do feel like what I was hoping for from these sets hasn't materialised. My expectations may be at fault for any disappointment, I know this has been the case with other franchises, for example I don't care for the Disney Star Wars movies, I had an idea of where the classic characters should be 30 years later and I can't expect film makers to cater to an audience of one. I have the highest respect for the work of Big Finish, I'd be very interested to know the constraints the BBC impose on a production, how much of the original plan gets altered from conception to product release.

Would someone please spoiler as to what happens in the three story's in vol 2 ? PLEASE REPLY. Ok So Ep 1 and 2 is the"The Face of Evil" set up by the Master and the Warrior Ep 3 is a shortened version of "The Key to Time" with the Warrior and Davros (who don't know each other), tasked by a Guardian to put it together again while being pursued another lot of alternate Timelords. Ok The Master gets abandoned by The Warrior at the end of the 2nd story, 3rd story as I described with Davros and the Warrior assembling the Key to Time, once the Key is complete we get a Monologue by the Warrior wondering if any of it actually happened and if just one of a infinite number of possibilities which includes a 4th Wall break behind the scenes of recording Regards mark687

I enjoyed this set but yeah, that ending....I will need to listen to this again to even formulate how I feel about it.
I did feel like the Warrior was missing for much of this set, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I even told a friend when I was in the middle of the second story that it felt more like a Master Unbound set than a Doctor Who Unbound. Geoffrey Beavers is so damn good as The Master that I don't mind that. I just feel like we don't really get a sense of what motivates The Warrior. He admits that he was The Doctor, but his actions don't feel like he was. Even a sense of acting purposely unlike The Doctor. But no, he just felt wrong for most of the set. I wonder if this was done purposely?
Anyway, I do like some mind bending in my stories and I plan on listening to this again to try and make more sense of it.

These unbound sets have certainly been challenging listening, which for me is a good thing. I've had to check my expectations going into episode 1 and reflect on the sets as a whole, sometimes you have to let go of pre conceived idea's about what Doctor Who is, and go along with the ride. I've really enjoyed this ride, 4/5 for both sets.
Ps
Geoffrey Beevers is fantastic, more exploring the crispy Master please!
