Definition of 'reteam' - to team up again
The Out of Time sets have shown just how much fun it is to have the Doctor team up with the Doctor
What about another Timelord meeting himself in a series of adventures?
All the fun of the duo Doctors, but multiple Masters will add extra mayhem and murder!
Such a boxset would probably simply be called – Masters
But I like how “reteam” is almost “master” backwards!
Assuming this is the new three disk format boxset, and would therefore mirror what we have with the Out of Time series, my choices would be…
An Education in Evil
Geoffrey Beevers and Milo Parker
A student is invited to the chambers of a mysterious Master for a very special study lesson. At the end of which the student will become the Master.
Yes I am not letting this one go, as I still really like the concept.
Whenever I imagine it in my mind it is just a two-hander, as I don’t think it needs any other characters. It’s their interactions I want to hear.
Also I am really surprised Big Finish haven’t done anything further with the Young Master
Own Worst Enemy
Alex MacQueen and Eric Roberts
“Hello me”
They both came into being from the same source Master, thus creating a split timeline. As such they each consider the other an abomination that most be destroyed.
There can only be one true Master.
Beevers succession is a messy affair and rivals will battle for the crown.
Perhaps it could play out on a medieval world, Game of Thrones style?
The Cyber Solution
Derek Jacobi & Sacha Dhawan
The Time Lords did dark things in the Time War.
Some of those dark things inflicted onto their own people.
The Master likes dark things, especially dark things he can use against their foolish creators.
On a ruined research centre on a ruined planet he encounters hideous and grotesque cybernetic monsters, but is rescued by the scariest monster of them all…his past self. The War Master.
For some reason I think these two Masters would get on and appreciate each other.
Even at the end, just before the Sacha Master blows up the research station with his past self still in it, the War Master applauds him, “Well played. My future is in safe hands.”
This War Master is one of the many attempts the original put in place to try and survive the Time War.
His clone lives a quite life in his sanctuary. Listing to a cyber string quartet, whilst being waited on by his Cyberman butler - Briggs.
Anyway those are my silly thoughts, what would others suggest?
