Ok i just purchased Harvest Of The Souls does this follow on directly from House By The Sea? I think the 1973-set run of Dark Shadows is one of the best things BF have ever done so I absolutely think it's worth working through in order House by the Sea Beneath the Veil Enemy Within The Lucifer Gambit The Flip Side (one of the best Big Finishes ever. From any range.) Beyond the Grave Harvest of Souls The Happier Dead Carriage of the Damned BUT You could enjoy Harvest of Souls just fine if you've heard BOTH House by the Sea AND Beyond the Grave so don't let me spend your money for you. But I wholeheartedly recommend the full run. (and although Beyond the Grave works find on it's own, it came at an end of a batch of six so has a real 'end of season' vibe if you've heard all the others - like a Doctor Who series finale.) You know what? I gone & purchased all the above titles, if you recommend them then your word is enough for me, I'm loving these audios, my wallet isn't however. I'll listen to House By The Sea hopefully tonight as last night family dramas interfered with me listening to this audio drama.

Well I hope you enjoy them - post about them and let us all know. All those stories had their own threads on the old BF forum that you could have posted in but I don't think they all do here.

Well, we could certainly set them up as we go!

How wonderful that we get new listeners and big fans of DS! I have purchased every audio since the very first, but admittedly, I was a huge fan of the show so I had a lot of context, even for all the very first! I think it's a great way to start (following the listening order suggested here, with House by the Sea, 1973, and post Bloodlust). I am quite sure you'll be hooked and will then have enough of an understanding to go back and enjoy the earlier ones! Welcome!

Are we doing 1973 or Quentin Collins for group listens next? Just wondering what I should start buying next.
I mean I plan to listen to both eventually but as I can't afford to get them all at once (as much as I'd love to) I am trying to stick to the group listen schedule.

We've done 1973 as a group listen before. So no formal listenthru for that in my mind. But I'm sure we'll all pass comment as Timelord007 listens if he posts about them.
Quentin next, which is nice for me as I've just met him in the TV show - he hasn't spoken yet but he's laughed a lot.

So according to the BF website that would be the following stories (presented here in chronological order, not release order): - The Skin Walkers
- Blood Dance
- The Creeping Fog
- London's Burning
- Operation Victor
- The Eternal Actress
- The Darkest Shadow
- The Haunted Refrain
The Path of Fate is set quite a way into the future post-Bloodlust (and isn't part of the Quentin arc on the site) so I suppose that one's up for debate. What say ye all?

Path of Fate certainly feels like more of part of an Angelique storyline. There's limited time with Quentin that really builds up to anything. Perhaps we could do The Path of Fate for an Angelique listenthrough later.

As I am buying Quentin I've been using this as a guide but let me know if something is missing on this list.

Have you seen there's a big Dark Shadows sale on this weekend? If you're enjoying 1973, you're at the very least going to want Panic, The Curse of Shurafa, In The Twinkling of an Eye, Deliver Us From Evil, Tainted Love and ...And Red All Over so you can find out what happened after Bloodlust (and in some cases what happened after 1973)

House By The Sea has to be one of the most nerve shredding tension filled stories I've ever heard, even my goosebumps had goosebumps.
Colin Baker is simply magnificent in this story & I'd recommend it to anyone who likes a surreal scary audio drama, listen to it in the dark though for added atmosphere.

It's one of those stories when you finish listening to it you can't move for a few minutes i just lay there in the dark not moving lol.
