Let's hope we get the real 11th Doctor not this imposter.

Glad Valarie is from the future. I like how Big Finish gives us more companions that aren't from modern-day Earth compared to the TV show. Always thought it was such a silly rule the BBC had that the Doctor could only have contemporary companions. It’s almost like they just chose to ignore it’s a series which involves time travel. I don’t disagree with the sentiment but I get the BBC thinking. A contemporary companion in the TARDIS is a contemporary audience’s eyes & ears for the show.

I understand that, but they could at least have a companion who's contemporary with one who isn't. We've only had that for a few episodes in the modern series, when Jack joined Rose and the Doctor. Thirteen's multiple companions would have been a good opportunity to mix it up. The fact that Yaz and Ryan already knew each other was never vital to their episodes.

Thoughts -
1) I hope they're not doing another unnecessary re-recast just for the publicity, as seems to have been the case with the Early Adventures 2) Is that definitely Matt Smith's body? Or have they stuck his head on Capaldi's neck?!

Or have they stuck his head on Capaldi's neck?! 1. Jacob Dudman has said that he's personally decided to step down, and Alfie Shaw has reiterated that it isn't BF's decision, it was all Jake's. 2. Capaldi never wore that outfit, it's definitely Smith's body. However, I think the head is from a different photo and they've been edited together.

The body of the Doctor on the cover is from The Time of the Doctor and the head is, I believe, from one of the Series 6 photoshoots where Matt sported his green coat. I haven’t got them to hand to double check, but the promo images were very brightly lit for that shoot and his hair was parted very much to the side.
I must confess I’ve spent many an hour studying all the variants Matt sported during his era, as I love his outfits!

If anyone is interested in this series, I recommend listening to (watch on YouTube) The Sirens of Audio podcast.
Some interesting nuggets in there such as there will be a Christmas episode and it is just great to see Alfie Shaw so clearly excited by the production, but equally worried about it living up to everyone’s expectations.

I have often hoped the Eleventh Doctor would get his own Master on audio, but with this being Mr Dudman’s last performance as the Eleventh Doctor I doubt it will be in this series. Perhaps they can weave Missy into the background, however the fact they could never meet would make her inclusion somewhat anti-climatic.

I can see us ending up with a story where Missy encounters Valarie alone and hears all about his quest to find the impossible girl, then goes off and finds her as “the woman in the shop”

I've always hoped BF might get Matt Smith to do a series of boxsets weaving in and out of his era on tv, with John Simm as a hitherto-unseen recurring villain.

Re: Jacob retiring…
Had a thought about this as the news article seems to be conflicting with Jacob’s comment about stepping back from the range completely in the BTS promo video. IIRC, we had footage of Jacob recording a second Tenth Doctor Chronicles set so perhaps they’re not announcing that he’s stepping back completely yet as they’re presumably still planning to release this set (likely once the Tennant lockdown sets are all released).

I suppose the other difference is that Eleven is a Doctor that Jacob has actually played, like Twelve. If the second run of the Tenth Doctor Chronicles is narrated like the first volume (which is hard to determine as of yet, as we know it was recorded in March 2020, which is well before the second Eleven & Twelve volumes and hot off the release of the narrated first Twelve volume), then they may not make any mention of Jacob stepping back either way. I don’t think they'd announce that an actor is stepping back from the company, but you would if they’re stepping back from a role, as they have in the Geronimo announcement.

He does have Madame Kovarian and the Church of the Silence who he could encounter in some form or other - their eternal war against the Doctor just seemed to fizzle out. Or maybe.... hold onto your hats here... a new villain/foe that ain't never been seen before....

This is BF, so I will not be surprised if he meets the old BF favourites who seem to meet everyone - Leela/Nyssa/Ace/The Eleven/River, etc.

It would be very strange for 11 to not meet River really. Eleven is the Doctor her story is really wrapped around. The Eleven would be hard though, the Twelve was the one during the Time war that could of escaped.

I would think Eleven meeting River is something being saved for when Matt himself comes on board. Really it's quite noticeable how very few returning elements Dudman's Eleven has come up against.

Can I ask
So i have a lot of respect for fan productions and many of them are great but - would you pay 20 quid for a fan production. What I've always wondered is what makes this different from a fan audio. It's got no original actors from the TV Series, don't get me wrong I'm sure the sound design and everything will be great but surely your just paying 20 quid for a fan production. I can understand 3DAs where you have Katy manning but am really instructed why people pay full price for fully recast stuff.
