In regards to this, it’s a gap that makes sense and I’m interested to see what the arc ends up being and of tomorrow sees all four sets announced with release dates. Potentially Oct, April, Oct, April?

Intrigued for more details, but sounds great to me. An original companion is always more appealing to me and I loved the previous Chronicles set for Eleven.
The gap between The Snowmen and The Bells of Saint John will be an interesting one; the Doctor should still have that rougher edge of post-Manhattan and also has the mystery of Clara that should play in the background.
I wouldn’t be surprised if River makes an appearance or two either.

I'd quite like one adventure during his exile to Victorian London. Between Snowman and Bells could be interesting too.

Sounds good! Looking forward to this.
As an aside, it has kind of wrecked BF's attempt at consistency in their range names and release titles. Prior to the 11th Dr vol 2, they had a policy of full cast being called Adventures and 1 or 2 actor releases being called Chronicles. I guess they want to keep the "11th Dr Adventures" title for if/when they ever get Matt Smith and "12th Dr Adventures" for if/when they ever get Capaldi.

I like the potential of this.
A new series of my favourite Nu Who Doctor.
I have always been impressed with Jake Dudman’s embodiment of Matt Smith’s Eleventh Doctor.
Happy to read there will be a series arc and will they use an overall series name like Dalek Universe?
A new companion will be exiting…I have just listened to her voice reel and she sounds really good. A character with the name Valarire Lockwood makes me think the Doctor will have an historical companion for this series.
Might the Paternoster Gang make an appearance…perhaps even in a double bill of stories? I am sure the Daleks will make an appearance…I just hope it might be the Paradigm versions.
And finally, all though I have so many hopes and questions regarding this series, it looks like two of the writers are new to Big Finish (please correct me if I am wrong) plus Alfie Shaw who is fairly new to me, having only heard his Regeneration Impossible short trip (that will have to get a relisten now), so I wonder who the producer will be?

Likewise, looking forward to this. Be interesting how it fits in with the 'impossible girl' dilemma - can you imagine if Jenna appears in an episode as another splinter - Clarice Ozwin maybe. A new companion will be great and anything that fleshes out Eleven/Matt's era is always a good thing. Even though he did his three seasons I always felt he was short changed in Doctor Who in much the same way Sixie, Seven and Eight were.
I relistened to Rearguard the other day and think Jacob still has it where Matt's voice and intimations are concerned. In the absence of the real thing he makes for a fine substitute.

How was Eleven short changed? I truly don't understand? He had some glorious stories, and Smith ended his time in the roll on his own terms. Please explain why you think this.

Just a personal thing, but Matt started great and got greater and it always felt like his Doctor was just beginning. The others all felt like they had their time, even Eccleston to a degree, but I can't help thinking that Matt had the potential to be the ultimate Doctor Who.
Maybe one day, as a much older actor Matt will reprise the role for stories set on Trenzalore. There would be something really appropriate there.

Sounds promising. I must admit I’ve yet to delve into the second set but I did enjoy what I listened to of the first set. The Calendar Man was a particular highlight.

Hmm that’s interesting. I’ve never really engaged with Chronicles as they just felt very, inessential I guess. Like they were being made purely because Big Finish had to do something with the new Doctors, rather than someone having such a good idea for these eras which demanded these extra lengths to tell that story. A proper arc might change this.

Longer run is always most welcome, there's plenty of rich story telling that can be shaken out of the generous gaps Steven Moffat kindly left throughout 11's timeline. How great would it be to get Neil Gaiman to write for audio, a lost Cybermen story perhaps or sequal to the Doctor's wife with a return for Suranne Jones!

Interesting :
"However, Jacob’s turn as the Eleventh Doctor is sadly drawing to a close at the end of a new 12-part series across four box sets. "
Making way ..?

So what happens to the 12th Doctor Chronicles or even 9&10 ?
