The article says "Jacob Dudman narrates and stars in four full-cast audio dramas..." This seems like a departure from both the previous formats of Doctor Chronicles, the narrated Doctor and single guest star stories and the full cast audio dramas without narration. I'm curious to see how well that works, if that is indeed the case.

I'm curious to see how well that works, if that is indeed the case. As the cast list on the website for Defender of the Earth lists Jake and four different actors, and on another tab it mentions that it was recorded in 2020 (around the time of the second Eleventh Doctor Chronicles)....well I think we can safely say your curiosity will be disappointed. 😊

So... a "full cast" of two per an episode I suppose it makes sense that they kept that format given that they have actual David Tennant for the actual full cast stuff.

Has there ever been a more middling-sounding release than this? I'm sure the stories will be competent enough, but damn...

Blimey. Getting flashbacks to the New Series Adventure books now with that cover.

I'm sure this will do ok purely by having Tennant's face on the cover but apart from that Genesis Lost Story I don't think I've ever been as uninterested in a release. We've had plenty of full cast Tennant releases that a narrated Dudman set feels a bit pointless.
(not a dig at Dudman, his full cast stuff for 12 and especially 11 have been brilliant)
The cover is decent though to be fair.

Wow. No one has commented on these since they came out, so I guess I'll go first.
I really liked these stories. They felt like some old Chronicles stories, which I have missed. And thank goodness because I don't think Jake Dudman could pull off a full cast Tenth Doctor set they way he's pulling of the full cast Eleventh Doctor. I do think his Ten is getting worse rather than better. The stars of these stories are truly the writers. I felt The Siege of Shackleton is the weakest of the set, but it's still pretty strong. Yes, we didn't really need these with the amount of actual David Tennant we have had over the last few years, however they are definitely worth a listen.

Only listened to the first one so far, but completely agree with you. It was great to take a step back into the old Chronicle format, which I didn’t realise how much I’d missed; could only be better with an era authentic reader. And you’re right about Dudman, his Tennant is pure Dead Ringers in this set, to the point where you’d wonder why he was hired in the first place. At first I thought it’s because of how good he is at Matt, but I think it’s just genuinely a poorer effort. Looking forward to getting round to the rest at some point. The beauty of the Chronicles is you can just dip in and out as you fancy a story from that era.
