Stories sound intriguing and I love the Vashta Nerada and think they’re the perfect foil to the Seventh Doctor. I just hope Sylvester is bringing his A-game, as his last few releases have all been subpar from him, and that they actually do something with Harry & Naomi.

You know, I’m surprised at just how much mileage Big Finish have gotten out of the Vashta Nerada as a concept.

And hiding in the news article...mention of November's title...The Last Day 1 Oh ! To go slightly off topic they've decided to split it and they still haven't put and Full Cast Classic Doc up for next year yet I'm guessing a Super Sub type thing online from November. Regards mark687

mark687 I would not be surprised in the slightest if the super sub happened in November - makes sense to take advantage of the 60th anniversary celebrations after all! Anyhow...Looking forward to reading reviews and opinions on Far from Home. Especially if it lays the groundwork for what is finally starting in November..

And hiding in the news article...mention of November's title...The Last Day 1 Interesting. Maybe it’s just me, but I always thought The Last Day of the Seventh Doctor would be just the one box set rather than several.

Do Harry and Naomi part company with the Seventh Doctor at the end of "Naomi's Ark"?

grinch - Intriguing isn't it? Like you I assumed we'd get something akin to The Last Adventure - a four part boxset leading into the TV movie. Clearly not going to be the case..

I mean I have no objections to the idea itself. Personally if it’s going to span multiple box sets, I hope we’ll get some rather intimate character driven narratives than simply entire stories chock full of fan service.

Another solid set with another great use of a returning creature and an Old School BF comeback in Operation Dusk
Naomi Cross and Eleanor Crooks Performance in the Role are proving really intriguing, she's like a positive Tegan. She's left something unresolved in her old life (we don't know what it is the Doctor does maybe)yet it drives her actions we assume she's joined UNIT and The Doctor because of it, but shes also fully capable of handling any crises of the here and now in terms of the 2nd story.
I'm also wondering if Harry is nearing the end of the road and can't decide if he wants a twilight cozy by the fire or a blaze of glory.

Finally!!! It's been ages since we've had a Seventh Doctor story, let alone a whole set, that I have enjoyed. Both stories were very well written and acted, and I was finally able to enjoy the team of Naomi and Harry. This is the first time I've liked Naomi at all, and she wasn't just good, she was terrific. And Harry is much, much less annoying and actually adds to the story. Syl is back in good form here and it's great to hear.

And hiding in the news article...mention of November's title...The Last Day 1 Interesting. Maybe it’s just me, but I always thought The Last Day of the Seventh Doctor would be just the one box set rather than several. Missed opportunity to name them, "The Third to Last Day," "The Second to Last Day," "The Last Day," etc. More seriously I'm pretty excited. More stories means more time for quieter character moments, which, I think, are of paramount importance in regeneration stories -- the action and stakes should never really be the point, IMO, considering how routine this process has become.

I love the idea of telling the story of 7s last day. It'll be interesting to see if the events of the TV Movie were one final grand plan or chess move.
I've been thinking at this point in the 7th Doctors life, what unfinished business does he have?

I love the idea of telling the story of 7s last day. It'll be interesting to see if the events of the TV Movie were one final grand plan or chess move. I've been thinking at this point in the 7th Doctors life, what unfinished business does he have? Does Ace count as unfinished business? We've already got something like, what, three or four different stories about how her relationship with the 7th Doctor concluded? Sure there's room for one more. Regarding the 7th Doctor's death, I'm a bit torn. I've come around on the idea of him getting gunned down entirely by accident as being a fitting end for a master manipulator, but at the same time I think it would be pretty interesting if it was a much more deliberate act -- not an accident, not a sacrifice, but something closer to a suicide. Like the 7th Doctor is trying to accomplish something and wants to be able to exert some influence on his successor to accomplish that (like imagine if the 8th Doctor's disdain and regret for the 7th Doctor was something the latter deliberately engineered for the former). Alternatively, it could be very interesting if the 7th Doctor simply makes some mistake -- some plan goes horribly, horribly wrong -- and that convinced him that it's time to pass the torch on, so to speak, to a new incarnation. Well, the gist is I think there are a lot of very interesting potential stories for the regeneration story (or saga?). Unfortunately this means there's also a lot of room to be disappointed with how it all pans out if that potential isn't realized.
