My problem with Hines was even though hes really good every now and then id hear a bit of Jamie in 2s voice which would throw me off, while Michael doesnt soumd exactly like 2, he has the spirit right and his voice doesnt throw me off like that. Oddly enough, to my ears Frazier Hines sounds much more like Patrick Troughton's 2nd Doctor than he does like Jaime.

Finished this set. The ending of The Green Man felt a tad easy, if I’m honest, but I quite enjoyed The Shroud. The Time Lord arc took a turn I didn’t expect so I’m curious to see where they take that.
All in all for my first go on 2DAs; pretty good showing.

My take on James Robert McCrimmon is freshly up on CultBox - in short, 3 different tales, all of which I rather enjoyed. I'm looking forward to more...

Jamie does what it needs to, I suppose. It’s somewhat slight and is better when it’s the Doctor and Raven than the Doctor and Jamie. It’s an unfortunate pairing in that Hines’ Jamie ends up being more like his Doctor, which inadvertently shows up Troughton’s version.

I think The Green Man gets so bogged down in self-congratulation in part two that it forgets part one needs to be decent enough to justify its flashbacks. Instead we end up with an overlong first part that doesn't really amount to much, followed by an exposition heavy second part that has events which really should've just been in the first to begin with. It does nothing with the Krynoid at all, which is a shame as it's a fantastic monster so rarely used.
The Shroud is much better. It finally has some sort of identity of what this range is trying to be. Raven comes to the fore and her pairing with the Doctor is much more preferable to me than a reunion with Jamie. I hope it's a sign of things to come, as this is a range that really should hit the ground running in forging an era, especially with only one set per year.
I don't think Troughton is great, and is shown up more by having Hines present, but not distracting, unlike Noonan. We just need content that justifies this being Season 6B, which in turn can justify a different portrayal of the Second Doctor.
