"Sam has been haunted for years by the Sigil. She’s drawn the pattern since she was a child, she has a tattoo of it, she sells prints of it. Then one day, she sees it on a statue in the window of Bilis Manger's shop. It turns out the Sigil is very old indeed. Why has it been haunting her? Why is it on a Celtic statue of a bird? Where did it come from? Has a terrible entity been released from its ancient slumber?"

That's made my day (perhaps I should be posting in that thread). I honestly thought we wouldn't hear from Murray Melvin again following events in the Torchwood Among Us set - I never knew he'd recorded another one!
Great news.

Looking forward to eventually giving this a listen.
No doubt it’ll make for a very bittersweet experience.

Not much tickles my fancy at the moment, but I love Billis Manger. So will get this. Maybe even listen tonight (or the weekend).

It's such a privilege to have one final performance from Murray Melvin to listen to. I'm very much counting down the hours until the end of the workday to hear this

Little is new in this story, but that's okay, especially when we are in such illustrious company. There's something oily, ubsequious but charming and villainously humble about Bilis 'Bill' Manger, and I'm glad the story has opted for an open-ended finale. Tweaks could have been made to the climax following Murray Melvin's passing, giving the character some kind of closure - but I'm glad BF didn't do that. I mean, how could you possibly close the book on Bilis? He's in good company here - neither Gabrielle Brooks as Sam or Angus Imrie as Emil are overshadowed, and put in really good performances.
Sigil ends a definite chapter in the life of Torchwood in a good, solid way, unless they recast. I hope they don't.

Considering Bilis’s own declaration in the series that he doesn’t belong anywhere within history, it wouldn’t seem right (in my opinion) that he’d have a definite end regardless of Mr Melvin’s untimely passing.

Loved it. Fantastic performance and a nice twist at the end ( I am not that into Torchwood, so it surprised me, but maybe people more familiar might have expected it). This story was creepy, had you guessing, Billis sends shivers down your spine.... what more could you expect? Also great use of sound effects. All comes together here. And the Open end signals that Billis might still be around to haunt this world.... All in all a great send-off for Murray Melvin. And this also works perfectly as a stand- alone creepy story, plus not much Torchwood knowledge is needed.

Nice to know, any recommendations?

Nice to know, any recommendations? I never really 'got into' Torchwood on the telly (the only episode I really liked was From Out of the Rain) but I love the majority of the audios. Recommendations? Loads!
Double, Dead Plates, The Grey Mare, Curios, Drive, Tropical Beach Sounds and Other Relaxing Seascapes #4, Dissected, Dead Man's Switch, The Vigil, The Hope, The Green Life, Night of the Fendahl, Deadbeat Escape, torchwood_cascade_ CDRip.tor, Corpse Day, Made You Look, Zone 10, More Than This and Fall to Earth.
And that's just the monthly range ...
I honestly think you'll enjoy these. If you do, perhaps consider branching out into the box sets. Good luck!

Thank you very much I'll check on Tardis Wiki which of them have no main characters from the show and will choose something interesting.

Just listened to it. I was surprised. I thought that we'd get something like the end we got, but I thought it would all be Billis maneuvering events. Well done all around.
I had a sense of dread throughout.

A quiet final outing for Bilis, which whilst not intended as an ending works fine as one. We finally get some insight into his motives (though what exactly he deems “balance” and why he took on this duty is suitably unclear) and the open ending is a nice last moment for him. The twist was a genuine surprise for me, and I think it fitted well.
Ultimately it’s left me wanting more, again, and it’s tragic there won’t be anymore. But I’ll always be grateful for these little sinister tales of Bilis. Murray Melvin always performed really well and the material always matched his commitment.
