Surely Nine meeting Unbound was enough of a hook in itself without other random characters in the mix? What exactly is the novelty Liv meeting Nine when they did that exact crossover less than a year ago!?

That is one heck of a cast they have there - Robert Powell, Gina Mckee, David Warner, Nicola Walker and Christopher Eccleston? Together? Tremendous.

Could be an earlier version of Liv and remember they won't remember anyway but Robert Powell as a Timelord and David Warner's Adieu opposite Chris plus the Best Frenines actually should have a chance to be friendly good times. My oh my...that is quite the guest cast they've pulled in for Christopher Eccleston's part in this anniversary event.
Not only Nicola Walker, Gina McKee and Robert Powell (all three of which are not exactly slouches when it comes to showing off their acting chops..) but if the picture in the Radio Times is to be believed and looking fabulous in orange is Jane Slavin as well (please be playing Anya Kingdom..please be playing Anya Kingdom...🤞). And of course not forgetting the late and much lamented David Warner, giving us one last hurrah for the Unbound Doctor (fingers crossed for an appearance by Lisa Bowerman..).
The Martian Invasion of Planetoid 50 almost took me off the sidelines. The casting alone for Timelord Immemorial most definitely will do.

Very much looking forward to this one, and I don't personally mind Liv and The Lumiat appearing, especially since Gina McKee and Eccelston have acted alongside each other as mentioned in Radio Times, so I imagine that might have been the reasoning there.

As much as I’m steadily losing interest in Once and Future with each passing release, the cast for this is quite staggering.

Says a lot about this that having a big guest star is getting the least excitement!

I loved Our Friends in the North so to see 9 meet a version of the Master and it be Gina McKee is awesome. Liv has her own history with the Master who's tried to kill her in some pretty messed up ways so I doubt she'll be quick to forgive this 'redeemed' version, she also already knows 9 so she can jump right into the action.
David Warner is a legend. That's about it.

Whilst I won’t deny the talent involved, it does boil down to the shopping list of characters that has plagued this series and produced middling to poor output. I’ve no reason to think this won’t be any different, unfortunately, but remain optimistic. It’ll be interesting to hear Eccleston outside his own range for the first time if nothing else.

Although getting Eccleston in a Doctor Who anniversary event, never thought I'd see the day. Or rather hear the day, what? Ho Ho.

I wonder … I wonder…. Is the Once and Future Doctor Unbound in more ways than one?

The legendary Robert Powell playing an ancient Time Lord? Yes please! The late, great David Warner in his final appearance as the Unbound Doctor? Yes please! Christopher Eccleston appearing in a multiple Doctor 60th anniversary story? Yes please! Gina McKee appearing again as the Lumiat? Yes please!
My only fear is you can have too much of a good thing and just like with the previous stories in Once and Future will it amount to anything more than a fun way of spending an hour.
But this will be an opportunity for me to hear the Ninth Doctor on audio and I recall that Christopher Eccleston has stated in the past that the story where he appeared with David Warner was his favourite script, so perhaps this will live up to its potential.

I know it's coming off as the "Big Finish dartboard" again but I am quite looking forward to seeing The Lumiat again - glad that she's not just a one-off character for Missy/Masterful and being used elsewhere.

Based on the comments made by those on the forum who have listened to the first four releases I am in little doubt that Timelord Immemorial will be as 'light and frothy' as the rest, and I cannot disagree with those who are expressing their discontent over the current trend of pick and mixing the available characters. As I said the other day though, it is the casting alone that has sold this one to me. So yes, you can have too much of a good thing and it may well be nothing more than a fun way of passing an hour. But just this once I'm going to indulge myself and worry about the consequences later. 😊 So far the only release in Once and Future that I have not been pleased with was Two’s Company and that was 100% down to Big Finish’s decision to introduce a new incarnation of the Multiple in such a slapdash way. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a bit of lighthearted fun. And this anniversary series has (mostly) delivered on that. I am very much looking forward to this release and next month’s Tenth Doctor, Missy and the Paternoster Gang extravaganza!
