Very interesting. Wonder if there are plans for this to become a long running audio series or merely a one-off?

Even though the audio length is not yet known, I am fairly confident this is what I will be using my October credit on!
Fingers crossed this might become an annual audible Hallowe’en treat.

Just pre-ordered this out of principle: Charisma Carpenter deserved better, I’m delighted to see her front and centre here, and I’m hopeful for some Big Finish-style character redemption.
My feelings on the “canonical continuation” comics are neither here nor there (I could never personally reconcile them as part of the TV world), but I wonder whether it will: (a) acknowledge seasons 8-11, (b) outright ignore them, or (c) use the multiverse premise to knowingly deviate.

Two episodes in, I’m enjoying this quite a bit. A fun new team dynamic and quick bantery energy that matches (my distant and probably distorted memory of) the original show.
The only complaints I’ve heard from others outside this forum — an audibly aged lead actor voice, awkward manoeuvring around absent cast members, an undertone of fan wish fulfilment — are gag reflexes most of us Big Finish listeners learned to push past long ago.

According to the Radio Times online there won’t be a second series of this because Disney as rights holders won’t allow them!
Which is a shame because I thought the series found it’s feet as it went along.

That’s a huge shame which given the rumours that Buffy the vampire slayer is the next IP to be rebooted that probarly is a reason it might have been cancelled

That’s sad to hear.
Contrary to mbt66’s experience (and my own first impressions in this thread), the back half of the series dragged on and outstayed its welcome for me. And that’s okay: every show is entitled to its first season growing pains. It deserved the chance to refine and improve.
On the balance I still found it comfort food-y fun. I would have been very open to another round.
