Did you know Romana is a real name? I have a seminar lecturer at university called Romanadvoratrelundar. Temped to call her Fred.

Romana is the female form of the Latin adjective meaning "Roman." So it's not surprising that it's a name.
Now, as far as I can tell, if her name is actually Romanavoratralundar, then her parents were Who-fans.

Now, as far as I can tell, if her name is actually Romanavoratralundar, then her parents were Who-fans. And sadists! (Hmm.... I remember a letter in DWM a few years back, when somebody encountered a woman whose children were named Tegan, Nyssa and Adric......) Come to think of it, there was a Romana who was on Blue Peter for the time (perhaps they should've asked her to present "Totally Doctor Who", and not that other ex-Blue Peter presenter, who didn't exactly come across as thrilled to have got the 'Totally' job)
