Back to the Future series by IDW
Hate to see this but as much as I enjoy the original film this really didn’t need to exist. It’s just fan service.

Hulk: The End (2002)
God, this was depressing. Probably overly so now that I think about it. Bruce Banner just can’t seem to catch a break can he?

i read winter world graphic novel by one of my favorite writers chuck dixon and penciller jorge zaffino
id like to give this a better review and its not bad book but id give it a C+ the dialogue reminded a bit of sincity which was good' the black and white is very nice
but i think zaffino needs to work on his storytelling.
i also read something inhuman comes this way black bolt it takes material from amazing adventures from back in the early bronze age of comics so it had the great
neal adams drawing it. then it ends with the first part of the kree skrull war which is an avengers issue. it was good. i bought ot on whim for 4 bucks
its a 104 pages so a good buy
i also read some of the trade marvel decades the 1970s the legion of monsters. ive been buying a lot of black and white stuff from marvel lately. so half of this
trade is from the marvel magazines of the 70s . so a little more risque then what you would find in their full color comic code approved books. not rated R
but PG 13. so i got a frankenstien story, a blade story, not the creature from the black lagoon but a pretty good substitute story. then i read the intro of
werewolf by night in full color with art by another personal favorite mike ploog. they were fun.
ive been ebaying a lot of trades lately i have to to stop watching near mint condition on youtube.
recent books captain america 19 was bad the falcon and winter soldier number 1 was good. conan the barbarian 13 was good.
nightwing 69 was decent even though i dont like the whole ric grayson direction. amethyst 1 was a good all ages book i love amy reeders art in this.
GotG 2 good stuff, cosmic, and god filled. its got my boys herc and marvel boy in it. fun stuff. force works 1 was ok. if you like the characters you will like
the book. i cant believe im writing this but i actually like a book from zenescope its called monster planet its no watchmen but sometime wild and lots of action is
all you need. like said ive been buying a lot of stuff so im sure ill be posting a lot in this thread.

Emperor of the Daleks. Now, this was a set of some nice stories. The 7th Doctor is very dark, scheming and alien in this and some of this moves appear to be cold and inhuman. Very good characterization. As for Benny... I did not get a lot of her character in this. She came across as rather generic. I definitely liked the Emperor of the Daleks story best. The story with the Silurians was at best pretty confusing, I got the impression as if there were a few panels missing?
The one thing I was not so sure about, is the 7th Doctor using old Sixie as another pawn in his dark chess games. And Sixie may complain, but still acts as a willing pawn. I am really not so sure if I can believe this. Even if you only take the TV series into account (BF did not exist back when these comics were made I assume), and of course the previous Sixie comics... this is something I find very hard to swallow.

submariner marvel snapshots 1 alan brennet gives namor some post ww2 pts chop zdarsky did the same thing in the recent invaders 12 issue series. namor doesnt seem like
a pts type of guy to me. i keep looking for marvel to start putting out some bronze age sub mariner epic collections. i guess ill have to wait till he shows up in the
movies. marvel is putting out just a ton of black widow collected editions. 2 epic collections, tpb, hc, and an omnibus.

The good chaps at Viz Comic have made a 2013 back issue available for free download to lighten the mood. I am enjoying reading it just now.

The first four issues of the newly relaunched Hellblazer comic from DC Black Label. Si Spurrier is an inspired choice to write everyone's favorite London based mage and he makes Constantine the right bastard that he should be.

Recently read the second volumes of both Lone Wolf and Cub and Blade of the Immortal. They are very good, I'm not a fan of manga in particular, but cool comics are cool comics.
I think I need to stop flitting around so much between different series. At first I wanted to sample a bunch of different ones as a relatively new comic book reader. Now that I'm finally coming back to some of them for round 2, it's like "Who's that and what are they doing?"

Scooby Apocalypse
Not as bad as the premise of Mystery Inc being involved in an apocalypse might sound. Rather enjoyable if slow in some parts.
Then again, as a long time fan I’m obliged to give anything Scooby Doo related a fair punt.

Batman: White Knight
Not a huge fan of the artwork but I think this is perhaps the only way you could have done the idea of a ‘good’ Joker without making it akin to Earth-3’s swapped morality gimmick. Plus, it is an Elseworlds tale so anything goes I guess.
Also, am I the only one who is pleased to see a reference to Baby-Doll from Batman: TAS? Even if it was just a glorified cameo.

Working my way through the second Gunsmith Cats omnibus. This series always had a goodly amount of sexual content, but I'm not really the squeamish type, so it's fine. Volume 2, however, has kind of ramped it up in some ways. One or two things have made me a little grossed out. I am still enjoying it on the whole, I just hope it doesn't turn into outright smut. I came for big guns and fast cars, not weird kinks!

nightwing is good again poor dick has 2 sets of conflicting memories in his head thanks to the court of owls. now joker wants to add a third set.
hawkman is my favorite series currently.
i read some trades herc from pak and van lenti, hercules from dan abbnett. both were ok. the first storyline in each was good but then filler
took over. both series were to launch herc into a solo series, after the success of the incredible herules with amadeus cho as his partner.
neither one caught on. nightwing deluxe edition 3. good stuff. then green arrow rebirth vol 1. i hated it. but i did like otto scmidst art.
coincidentally otto just finished a hawkeye miniseries over at marvel. i wonder if he has been type cast for bowman books. he draws women very
well. his black canary is excellent . i'd put him on a female lead book.

i read hawkman convergence issues 1 and 2 dc's convergence was another failed mega event this was written by one of my favorite writers jeff parker
and drawn by tim truman. truman's art style has changed quite a bit. this was the hawkworld katar and shayera. it was ok. if you find it in a
bargain box for super cheap then maybe you give it a shot. the only thing worth the cover price was the ralpheal albuquerque covers
i am also in the middle a kull the conqueror trade of 1970's kull series reprinted by dark horse. i bought it for the mike ploog art work which does not disappoint.
its a fun read

i read a1 presents odyssey its a riff on captain america. instead of a scientific super soldier serum they use magic and the supernatural.
i liked it but i ended in cliff hanger and it does look like they will publish anymore. its been a while since it came out,
i am reading the conan epic collection return to cimmeria. ITS GREAT!!!! kurt busiek has surpassed roy thomas as THE conan writer in comics.
there is an artist in here ive never heard of before. greg ruth he is fantastic. he and kurt have 2 part story in here starring a young conan
before he leaves to go explore and adventure. i wish i could express how good it was.
marvel regained the conan rights from dark horse and are going to reprint all their stuff in epic collections. ive already ordered 3 more conan
epics. all i want to do is sit around and read conan comics!!

Superman Smashes the Klan
Really enjoyed it. It's occasionally anvilicious, and the last thing Superman needs is another origin story, but I love this interpretation of Superman, the immigrant alien who sees our common humanity with his X-Ray eyes. Gene Luen Yang is also an outstanding writer, so that didn't hurt.
