Actually their questions were better than the adults on The One Show! For a second...I thought they were gonna go full Paxman on him. Imagine RTDs face if these two moppets asked: "But would you really have come back if you weren't given a massive financial incentive to do so with Bad Wolf now partnering with the BBC and essentially owning a chunk of a worldwide franchise? And can you deny Disney have any veto powers whatsoever given they've censored Marvel and Star Wars broadcasts for Asian markets?" "And lets address your inactions when it comes to John Barrowman and the set atmosphere on Series 1 given Noel Clarke and Bruno Langleys troubles, as well as Chris Eccleston's issues?" "Let's talk....Davros" Newsround meets Newsnight!

I'm guessing these monsters are an homage to the cheap looking ones from the 80s? The look is explained in the story (at least in the comic)

Well, you can't say they aren't going all in with supplemental material.

For those outside the UK, there is now a landing page on Disney+ for the Star beast And for those in the UK, Doctor Who (2023-) has a landing page on iPlayer, alongside Doctor Who (1963-1996) and Doctor Who (2005-2022).

Preview clip. Looks like Beep is a bit more chatty at the start than in original.

Preview clip. Looks like Beep is a bit more chatty at the start than in original. Standard subtle score from Murray Gold it seems...

A Quick Recap before Tomorrow Regards mark687 David now looks a distinguished 50 year old, especially looking at the older clips next to him in 2023. But...seriously...has Catherine Tate discovered Shangri-La? You could put her in a lost story from S4 and no-one would think Donna has aged a day in 15 years.

Well I positively adored that! Worries that this wouldn't feel like Who with Disney involved should be put to rest, because while we have a sparkling new budget and look, the cheese and camp of The Doctor is still very much there. Miriam Margolyes is a wonderful villain in Meep, and evil Meep looked fantastic from a design point I thought. The best part though? The fact that 15 years later, The Doctor and Donna are back, and never been better. The way of solving the meta-crisis was great, and I loved how it tied in with 13 as well as Rose. I cannot wait for next week!

I can suggest no better remarks than Barry Letts' wise words from "The Paradise of Death"
Yes, it sagged a bit after the middway point, and I'm a bit worried they've had to abandon the footage filmed of Bernard Cribbins, but this is very much DW from back in the day, back again.

Oh, I think we'll see Wilf, don't worry. He only filmed a tiny bit though.
Loved it. OK, it's as I said I imagined it would be on the other thread, the more romp-like, season opener RTD always loved. But it's perfect for this. There's not a wasted second. Tennant manages to be the old face AND add a bit of gravel to his voice to stand alone from Ten. His BF performances show he can do the old voice no issue but when he talked to Ruth Madeley? He had an older cadence.
Loved the Nobles. Loved the meta-crisis resolution (though I'm sure "Why does the first trans character need a reason to be trans?" will be an issue that comes up. New credits, theme and TARDIS? All gorgeous.
Just...fab. Populist, RTD era Who.

What a joy that was. I can't wait for the next 2 episodes. I'm just sad we can't have a full season of Donna and 14!
Still I'm so happy to have 3 wonderful adventures that I'm confident will be a massive success!
