We have a synopsis :
"Mysteries come in all shapes and forms. From a small-scale murder to an alien conspiracy. But when they arise the Doctor, Tegan, Nyssa and Adric are the perfect team to deal with them.
The Merfolk Murders by Tim Foley (120 minutes) St Andrews, Scotland, 1940. The Merfolk are a university society meeting through the summer to discuss murder mystery stories. Innocent escapism during wartime, they say. Their latest book is The Casebook of Orion Hood – whose hero is all-too-familiar to the Doctor…
When a real-life murder occurs soon after their gathering, the Doctor’s friends encourage him to investigate. Is one of the Merfolk responsible? Was this crime the result of espionage or envy? The Doctor must embrace his deerstalker once more and solve this wartime mystery – before the killer can strike again!
Dream Team by Lizzie Hopley (60 minutes) “Welcome to Concordium! The one stop destination for elite and effective corporate bonding.”
A protected wonder of space is being exploited for ‘company away days’ but when the Doctor, Tegan, Nyssa and Adric land to challenge the organisers, they fall into a web of perfectly tailored nightmares. As the Doctor confronts one of the most dangerous monsters in existence, one that uses your own mind against you while it feeds, his companions fall deeper into the trap and a nasty truth is revealed – you can die in dreams."
Cast :
Peter Davison (The Doctor) Janet Fielding (Tegan Jovanka) Sarah Sutton (Nyssa) Matthew Waterhouse (Adric)
IMHO I am really enjoying the BF version of "Adric" - Matthew W has been an absolute delight to listen to..!

Two days, two Doctors, two announcements I like the sound of. Looks like I'm back on the 5DAs and 6DAs this year, good!

Now let's see. Lizzie Hopley. Tim Foley. The Fifth Doctor's constantly engaging (and often very amusing) TARDIS team.
Big Finish - take my money; it's been a pleasure!
More of this kind of thing, please.
Nice to see the half-moons making an appearance!

Is this the 1st time we have seen 5th on the cover wearing his glasses? (We know 10th Doctor would approve!)
Notice this in the press release :
"The collector’s edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1500 copies and will not be repressed. "
There is also a 3rd story ! :
"Meanwhile, Turlough by Jonathan Blum
There’s a crisis on Greysolon. And only the Doctor, Tegan and Turlough can stop it.
Except one of them may be otherwise occupied. Turlough has managed to find a crisis of his own. A very personal one.
While his friends are saving the planet… he’s going to have to save himself. "

'Oh my!'
It's looking like a big policy shift without being formally announced as a big policy shift. BF have called boxsets 'Collector's Editions' for a while without it seeming to mean much, now at these numbers and no second chances it seems literally true.
I wonder if this will apply to all the Doctors (even Tom and Eight?) or will it be the classic MR three's boxsets, or what?

Haven’t been enamoured by the Fifth Doctor output since the move to box sets - probably not helped by him having an incredible final few years in the main range - but I’m very fond of the Season 19 team. I think the Dream Crabs are great, so hope they’re utilised well here, and I like the 2 part / 4 part split.

Yes! Instant purchase. Good writers & I love this TARDIS team, well apart from Adric but i can endure his presence.

This really does sound like an exciting set, especially that first story.
This is what we need, yes have the hook of a existing monster (unfortunately, that's what will sell so I won't complain if it keeps them in business) but just tell a couple of good stories (which, I can't speak to the quality yet of course).
I'm just not as excited about a 'throw everyone and everything' type release anymore (Once and Future, Last Day and the upcoming 6tg Doctor set).

Much like the Vashta Nerada, I'm surprised at just how much mileage Big Finish have got out of the Dream Crabs as monsters.
I'm all for this personally. I really liked what they did with this TARDIS team with 'Psychodrome' and 'Iterations of I' a while back.

How interesting, because I feel that his sets have been the best of the core MR Doctors (5,6,7) since the move to boxsets. I have been seriously underwhelmed byt the 6th and 7th Doctor output over the last few years. But glad to hear that even not loving his recent stories, you're looking forward to these. I certainly am!

Always an instant winner for me - a favourite team and a set with some real nice imagery.
And I agree with shallacatop - I've been left a little cold by the last four box sets, although the last one was the best of them.

I quite liked last year’s sets, and generally the Season 19 audios I’ve encountered so far have been good. So I’m open to this one.

If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend reading Tim Foley’s enthusiastic blog post about his own story. I for one am sold.

'Well, Tegan, it all depends...' 'On what?' 'On how the TARDIS is feeling...'
