"Jodie will pose for photo-ops and sign autographs on Sunday Only "
"Jodie Whittaker played the Thirteenth incarnation of The Doctor on Doctor Who from 2017 to 2022. The first woman to lead the series in the title role, she debuted in the story “Twice Upon a Time,” assuming the mantle from prior actor Peter Capaldi. Alongside supporting cast members Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, Tosin Cole and John Bishop, Whittaker played the role through three series and three specials to very positive reviews and media fanfare, departing in the October 2022 special “The Power of the Doctor”.
Whittaker’s career in film, television, radio and theatre includes Attack the Block, The Kid, One Day, Venus, Hello Carter, Good Vibrations, Perrier’s Bounty, the Oscar-nominated short film Wish 143, Accused, The Night Watch, Black Mirror, The Assets, Trust Me, and Emotional Fusebox and its feature-length version Adult Life Skills, which earned her nominations in the Best Actress category at the British Independent Film Awards and the National Film Awards. She also became well known to audiences on both sides of the Atlantic for her portrayal of Beth Latimer in Broadchurch, created by Chris Chibnall and also starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman.
Most recently, she starred alongside Bella Ramsey in the second season of BBC One’s Time."

Unfortunately it was too difficult for me to go to this (As a comparison William Shatner was AUST $250 - $300 for the photo. If she is a guest at the Adelaide Supanova Convention in a few months time I will definitely have the family photo taken with her and there Will be a "Big Finish" discussuion .

This happened a couple/few years ago before covid I think(?). I think it's the same owner of the Event..
If it is... he 101% has not learned anything. There were Massive protests back then about this and it did hit the tv news..

On some good news- there is a guy I know of who is involved in the Aussie arts scene, he does a lot of hosting/co-hosting at Conventions- he used to cosplay as 10th.
He posted his pic of Jodie and him on his personal FB page saying she was lovely etc etc. I left him a message asking if Big Finish was brought up.
Hopefully he responds.

Ok.. The same convention was held this past weekend in Gold Coast, Australia.. I literally just received confirmation : "Jodie did say she has not been asked, however she would love to do one with Michelle Gomez". <Here's hoping the BF staff on this forum read this and pass the message on>

I mean they announced Sacha and Jo ages ago. I dont think they would forget about the actual Doctor! They've had Churchill and Lady Christina box sets, would seem fair to assume they know if Jodie REALLY wants on board this soon or not. I think with her success with Time and the other drama last year she was in that she would want some distance. Ive also learned since going to conventions in the 80s that a lot of what is said is for the room and if not a lie then often to placate the audience. If Jodie said no, I dont like audio and dont want to think about the role again, itd be a downer. So a classic "Who knows, why not?" is better for all.

Paul McGann wasn't even given the 1st official BF "offer" by his then Manager back in the beginning.. It took some months before he was actually told and accepted.
Matt Smith claims to have not even heard of an official "offer".. even though BF have gone on record as saying every so often they politely reach out to gauge their interest (11th and 12th)..

Paul fired that manager IIRC for taking multiple decisions on his career without consulting him so that's a bit different. Matt has been asked about Big Finish for a decade and not signed on - of course they've asked I have zero doubts. And he, and any Who regular, will be aware from the circuit on top of any official offer that they are surely welcomed. Theyve done Rory boxes - theyd kill for Matt and Karen who are much bigger stars and bigger deals. But Matt has also wanted to distance himself from the role. He took a long time to have a real success in the US with his Game Of Thrones spinoff after flops like Terminator 5, Morbius and others and I think now hes in his 40s will milk that success for a while. The fact classic Doctors and companion almost all did Big Finish from the start because it was a job and not many of them had regular work has spoiled us into thinking it's when not if people will sign up. And for Karen, Matt, Peter C, Jodie, Matt Lucas, John Bishop, Jacob Anderson and many more they dont need Big Finish as work and in some cases probably feel theyve done their job on the show and dont need to do audios which will be heard by a tiny percent of the audience who saw them on telly. Its long been said Capaldi really doesnt want to do Big Finish and last year doubled down on not wanting to return to the role at all. I respect letting sleeping dogs lie as much as I respect Michelle Gomez, Eric Roberts or Derek Jacobi doing audios when they could do a dozen other things given their profile. Tennant was happy to do a lot more because of the pandemic too which again spoiled us into thinking he would be more regular than he has been since. As much as DW is our be all and end all it really is a job for them.

As much as DW is our be all and end all it really is a job for them. Oh yes- on the whole I do agree with ^ . To them it's a job first (look at all the C Eccleston interviews where he literally says that).. There was a very recent Peter D interview a few days ago, he mentions D Tenant came back as 14th because he is such a huge fanboy for the show.. You can have it both ways -be a fanboy but only if the $ is right.
As for the actors personalities behind the scenes, I know a couple Promoters here, who have slyly let slip a couple "not disappointing, but realistic" responses when I asked about certain people. This promoter personally has a couple of the classic era Doctors mobile numbers saved in his mobile phone - He is on Very good terms with people like Katy and Frazer. There is a reason it's called Show Bu$ine$$. agree on the $ then we talk and give it my all.
