More David Banks Cyberman is good news.
Don't like the quote about "And NO court scenes.." on the backstage tab from Jonathan Powell. We've lost Michael Jayston recently and the rapport between him and Colin made those scenes. Lynda Bellingham has left us too. Would have been a classier way to phrase that.

Especially since Colin Baker is a very touchy person as his non-relationship with Doctor Who Magazine Shows. Call me old-fashioned Big Finish, but your boxset named for the Trial season and with the Doctor and two companions of the Trial season appeals to me because I LIKE THE TRIAL SEASON! |

I’m sorry but your quote is wrong. They say “ but Trials takes its lead from Season 22 just as much as 23.” rather than “It’s as much as Season 22 rather than Season 23”. I don’t really see the jibe against season 23 that everyone else seems to see in the news article though. 🤔 They have even named the boxset after that season |

Why mention Season 22 at all unless to say "so it's more like that season people prefer, dont worry"? - , you wouldn't see one saying a McCoy releasing was "As much S26 as it was S24" to make sure we know its not spoonerisms and pratfalls but more Cartmel masterplan. They'd already said the quite dumb line about celebrating the lack of courtroom scenes. So they are making a set riffing on the title but then wanting people to know "but it's not much to do wth Trial, dont worry". I'd say thats a jibe - and thats being polite. As to the tile? Well, they just did a set with a pun on The Twin Dilemma and thats one of the least popular ever stories. I dont think that box means theyre massive fans of that. Their own words let them down which is not exactly a first. |

One of the most frightening things about this release is the name Jonathan Powell attached to the production and directorship. It was Jonathan Powell who was head of BBC1 after Michael Grade, and who effectively cancelled Doctor Who back in 1989. Bit scary, that.
I'm being frivolous of course.
I agree that BF's seemingly presuming nobody likes Series 23, especially the trial scenes - and that's certainly how the promotional blurb makes it sound - is a bit off. I thought Colin Baker and Michael Jayston's intense verbal sparring provided some of the highlights of that series.
As for this release: I love the Sixth Doctor, especially with Big Finish, but can't we cut the endless anniversary celebrations and simply tell some interesting stories?
Nice to hear from David Banks again though.

I totally see your point, but for my money I actually like them doing these “Doctor Specific” anniversaries because we’ve had lots of Doctor Who or Big Finish or BBC anniversaries, but we’ve never really had a Colin Baker celebration that gives him and Davison (and McCoy in a few years) a few fireworks. Given that this might be the last significant anniversary these actors are alive or interested in still acting for, I’d love to get them in when we can. Outside of this years sets Colin has been pretty continuity light the past few years as has Davison (outside of 40 of course), so that makes these feel more special than they would otherwise. |

I absolutely agree with much of what you say. It's just that to me, these celebratory get-togethers - and yes, Doctor Who is always worth celebrating 😀 - are rarely as enjoyable as a good, nicely plotted, contained story. The biggest casualty is one of my faves - Sylvester: any originality his television stories had has been swamped recently with mash-ups and get-togethers, for no readily apparent reason. This approach seems mainly connected with Doctors 6&7. Apart from 'Forty', the Fifth Doctor seems to be unscathed, and thriving with new adventures featuring mainly new characters. Same for Doctor Three. Creative, rightfully acclaimed series Anyway, that's my little rant over! Big Finish: for the love of stories. So let's get back to telling some 😁 |

After “The Last Day” it is hard to imagine what they would do for a Doctor 7 celebration that hasn’t already been covered several times over. For Colin, I feel he’s been super “returning elements light” ever since Barnes left as script editor. A few Dalek stories but not much else in 5 years (except the Doctor of War stuff that I didn’t buy because it looked like such a mish mash).
Though I guess thinking about it, he does appear in pretty much every multi-Doctor set, so I can totally see that viewpoint.

Still haven't listened to The Quinn Dilemma but fingers crossed this release will be good i mean a sorta spiritual successor sequel to Attack of The Cybermen might be fun
given it was such a dark body horror episode that did the cybermen right not to mention 6 blasting the cybermen felt cathartic after they were responsible for Adrics death in Earthshock
The Problem is that i found most of The 6th Doctor box sets either Bland or Downright Terrible (Looking at you Purity Undreamed) so i really hope they can deliver a good boxset
