Product Page www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/doctor-who-faith-stealer-227Very good set up if a little rushed in its ending. Poor old Crizz continues to be the zelot without a cause in what's otherwise another slice traditional Who within the frustratingly opac framework of the DU (no concept of Time but the concept of Multiple Faith structures no problem) Regards mark687

I really liked this story, the absurdist nature of the various cults and the curious characters met along the way. I think the Eighth Doctor stories from this time often succeeded despite the framing device of The Divergent Universe rather than because of it. Similarly, C'Rizz was appealing thanks to Conrad's acting, rather than the troubled colour-changing alien with the undisclosed mood swings concept disguised as 'character'. A lot of questionable ideas occured about The Divergent Universe in my view - the lack of TARDIS being another - and yet some stories stories still shone; like this one (the following tale The Last shone even brighter, but that's for another day).

Unexpected (by me on my first listen) amounts of satire and humour (some quite dark and some almost slapstick - Whoops!) and another story in which C'rizz is not himself for a while, this is becoming a thing isn't it? I enjoyed this one as I did most of the DU stories; a good story and a most unexpected twist... The villain we think is in control doesn't exist! I obviously needed more lucidity because this fooled me completely And I liked the idea of the 'ghost TARDIS' haunting the Doctor. Best line: 'I hope for a Renaissance.' 'Renaissance is futile'. I do like a pun!
