The 3rd Doctor, Jo Jones, The Cybermen and it’s a 6 parter!
October can’t come fast enough!

Hoping the longer format allows them to take advantage of the fact it’s Jo Jones more, as they’ve done wonderful things with the character. That was really missing for me in the previous set, aside from the subtle as a sledgehammer mention of Cliff at the end of the first story.

The writing team behind this have written some really impresive stories for Big Finish recently, often for the Torchwood range. Their story Poppet is one of the most intriguing and disturbing tales I've heard in a long time. As usual, I have hight hopes for this continually briliant range. Can't get enough of the 6 (and 7!) parters, and it'll be good to have Katy Manning back. A 'terrifying, gothic script?' Yes please.

Hm... sounds interesting. Not sure how I feel about it all being one big story, though. Could wind up being a really good thing, or really... not.
Still, I'll never say no to more 3rd Doctor stories.

Honestly haven't bought too many of the new main range, however I think ill pre-order this one.
The cover is just such a great image, I'm hoping they really go for the horror elements of the story. Given the writters have mainly wrote for Torchwood (which is Big Finish's most consistently good range in my opnion) I've high hopes!

I admit I stopped buying the Third Doctor stuff after the reinvention of the Main Range a few years ago, even though I own the first eight sets from the previous range. But I quite enjoyed the Jo Jones box set from last year and this one sounds great. One big story featuring Cybermen from some of the best Torchwood writers, yes please. I'll probably preorder that.

It goes without saying that I pre-ordered this year's Third Doctor bundle regardless of what the stories might be. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif)
And then to find not one but two six-parters, out in space with Sarah and now an alien world 'spooky house' Cyber-treat with Jo, a long time after she first met them. And a long time before she first met them. Excellent!

The title makes me think The Collective (probably the Four) will be part of the story (there’s a Gallifreyan style name in the credits too….)

But if it was the Collective, wouldn't 'Quintessence' imply the Five? Though I don't remember his 'attributes', would he fit the story?

Five is ‘the joker in the pack, the wise cracking and confident trickster’ - found this on the Dark Universe script cover…

Five is ‘the joker in the pack, the wise cracking and confident trickster’ - found this on the Dark Universe script cover… Interesting "opposite" to the Doctor's Five. Not that he didn't have his own line of dry wit of course.

Five was the hypnotist IIRC. I think the Ten was the hypnotist, I don't think the Five's ever really been touched on? You're right, that's him - 'The Mesmerist' is how the Eleven refers to him. Maybe to separate him a bit in our minds from the Master with his very hypnotic personality?

I wonder if BF could put that summary list of the Collective's internal 'cast members' up on the website the next time they appear in a story? It would be helpful to have a who's who. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/6343532/images/mW7FMmAyG_vqxkNOJyyh.gif)
