Sod's law, didn't see this and just made reference to it on the Doctor Who BluRay thread. As soon as I went back to the forum homepage this was the first post that caught my eye!
I have admittedly never watched Blake's 7, but have always been intruiged. I've put my pre-order in and looking forward to finally getting round to the show. I like that the In Conversation will span into this range too, as it'll be a nice way of getting some of the participants Who careers covered in a way that may not necessarily get their own feature in the Who BRs.

Wonder why no Travis on the cover, seems as bit strange as there is a new documentary on Stephen Greif in the content

I envy you, getting the thrill of experiencing B7 for the first time - a thrill I had 30 years ago with the 1990s VHS releases

I've watched the show on DVD several times with my Dad, but since he owns the discs I've been looking to get my own set for a while now. I almost bit the bullet a year ago, but then I saw they were doing a Blackadder Blu-ray and decided to hold off for a little longer in case they decided to do Blake's 7 ones (I wasn't aware anything other than Doctor Who was getting the upscale treatment by the BBC). I'm very glad that I waited! The new restoration looks amazing, so I'm really looking forward to this. I'll have to wait a little longer than most, as it's been lined up as a Christmas present for me... but I've a suspicion that the wait will be worth it!

Yep, although Doctor Who is in a league of its own in terms of the sheer dedication and effort to the end product, with Blake’s 7 seemingly following that format. Some of the other releases are terrific, though. I never get used to the Only Fools and Horses 80s specials set and just how amazing To Hull and Back looks, or the fact they recreated the titles from scratch. Such a shame there doesn’t seem to be any more of them on the horizon.

It was learning about the Blackadder one that made me aware of the Hitchhiker's and Fawlty Towers ones, which is why I decided it was worth waiting to see if they'd do B7. I didn't know about the others you've listed. I've heard LOADS about the Quatermass stuff over the years though, so I might finally give that a look some time soon...

That's the ancient DVD rather than the Aussie version of this, which is bluray. The UK had that same cover in the 2000s.

Such a shame there doesn’t seem to be any more of them on the horizon. Well, it sells more than the rest so they can invest more. But a lot of the folks working on these are the same. And the extras are often similiar - Toby Hadoke moderates the Quatermass commentary for one. I would have thought I, Claudius would be a bluray candidate. There's only a Dutch blu which is SD on a bluray disc, pointless. There's also the BFI's release of 1984 with Peter Cushing that is a package that makes even the Who blurays look scant - especially as the film was caught up in all sorts of rights issues for decades. The Ghost Stories For Christmas are a wonderful package too. And Network's Woman In Black.

SO GLAD that they didn’t add laser beams to the Liberator guns.
