I would love this. I think pairing these two together was brilliant.

I don't like Martha much (the actor is very nice though judging by my brief conversation with her about why I disliked Martha on Twitter - don't worry, it was polite and there was another tweeter in the conversation offering the other perspective) but I'd be interested in any spinoff with Mickey. I'm sure Freema Ageyman and Noel Clarke would agree to it too.

I was expecting a thread dedicated to 'I like trucking and I like to truck' Ps one for the older folks Yes that went through my mind as well. Unfortunately as one of them is dead we are not likely to get a return, audio or otherwise!

Yes, her pining for The Doctor was annoying, but with that out of the way she's smart, brave and fiercely loyal. She can handle herself in difficult situations. She stands up to The Doctor when she has to and can hold her own in most situations. She's a peacemaker when she can be but can be tough as well. And she is the only New Series companion smart enough to just walk away and make a life for herself. I have a lot of respect for Dr. Jones.

I hated this pairing. Having spent so much time with The Doctor Martha ends up chasing alien threats around with a massive gun? Really doesn't sit well. She was training to be a Doctor, to help the sick. Then she ends up shooting things. Awful.
Give me Clara's "Be a Doctor" any day.

I just can't stand the character's jealousy towards Rose. Freema Agyeman was great though; it's just a shame RTD couldn't have toned down the unrequited love angle.

But a spinoff might be able to show how she still managed to be a doctor AND be a freelance alien hunter on the side. She could even have the same worries you've expressed. I think I'd want it to be an ongoing story that starts right after Journey's End and gets to their appearance in End of Time about two series in. Just so we can see how they actually ended up together.

I don't know, I'd quite like the 10DAs to cover other points in the 10th Doctor's timeline as well as 10 and Donna.

I would rather have Martha with the Doctor.
Smith and Jones would not be an instant buy for me it would have to have something more going for it than just those characters.
For example if it was teased that they would cross paths with someone like the Doctors Daughter or they would face a the Weeping Angels.

I just think that We'll only get limited numbers of adventures with ten in, and Donna doesn't really have the potential to be a standalone, whereas Martha does. So a Martha standalone set could be in addition to another tenth doctor set, whereas including her in the next tenth doctor set leaves us without a possible standalone idea to go along with it. I mean neither might happen, but I do think over the next few years they'll start to broaden the new who range out.

I don't think standalone potential would come into whether or not they do a 10DA with Martha though. No reason why they couldn't do both.
