Oh and what's coming up in BF DS is very, very exciting. Certainly not "let's just do more of the same". It's looking to be a very fun range with potential to tell some vastly different stories than have been possible till now and, hey, the 50th is getting every closer....

To be fair I think it would be very difficult to be anything but lovely to KLS.

She's a treasure! I was so very impressed with her. I can't wait to read "Last Dance at the Savoy?"

A new podcast is up. www.collinsporthistoricalsociety.com/2016/04/podcast-another-day-another-dollar.htmlIn Big Finish’s thirteen-part DARK SHADOWS epic “Bloodlust”, Roger Carvalho played Collinsport towner, Benjamin “Frankie” Franklin, mine-worker and boyfriend to Kate Ripperton, messed-up editor of The Collinsport Star. Frankie was the everyman grounding the drama, and his relationship with Kate provided one of the emotional backbones to the serial. Shortly after recording ”Bloodlust”, Roger left the country. Hopefully the two were not connected. On Roger’s first visit back to the UK, I took the opportunity to catch up with him for a chat about Frankie, what he’s been up to since leaving us, and his involvement in the entertainment website and app Snoovies. We had hoped to reunite him with Kate actress Asta Parry, but she had other ideas…

Thanks for both podcasts. These are always such great treasures. With these two, Big Finish's, and a Radio Retopolis interview with David Selby (Quentin Collins I, II, parallel time, and even Charles Collins), we have been quite spoiled lately with all the wonderful news about the Dark Shadows world, past, present, and future.
Roger Carvalho's interview was wonderful. Thank you for all the work luring him into the interview room before he left the country again. Hopefully he can join the LA cast for new audios, whether as a younger Frankie, or someone else. Who knew he sounded so different than Frankie? All the best to him nonetheless.

Just a heads up...
All being well, there should be another podcast interview harrying its way to you in the next few days.

And it's up already!
TOM/HARRY AND DICK Podcast: The Curse(s) of Scott Haran
By ROBERT DICK
Scott Haran joined DARK SHADOWS in 2015 to great acclaim as Harry Cunningham, one of the most normal residents of Collinsport. Over the course of the thirteen-part “Bloodlust” serial, Harry had to deal with the past secrets of both his father Andrew and his step-mother Amy, whilst keeping present secrets of his own. And that’s all before the witch Angelique and a long-standing curse caused trouble for the youngest member of the Cunningham family...
Scott then returned in “The Curse of Shurafa” as Barnabas Collins told Harry about past horrors he, Professor Stokes and Dr Julia Hoffman faced in Egypt.
I caught up with Scott during the recording of Big Finish Productions’ DARK SHADOWS 50th anniversary special, “Blood & Fire”. We look back on the recording of “Bloodlust”, and on Scott’s starring role as Tom Clarke in the BBC children’s drama series “Wizards vs Aliens”, where Scott first met DARK SHADOWS producer Joseph Lidster. And Scott fills me in on which other Collinsport family he’s joining in “Blood & Fire”, and what else he has lined up after he returns to the Big Finish studios to take part in the next DARK SHADOWS serial, “Bloodline”.

No new podcast news (for the moment) but people might be interested to hear I spent the day with Matthew Waterhouse yesterday... FILMING!
I'm the presenter/interviewer of Matthew's entry in the MYTHMAKERS range of Doctor Who interview DVDs and we did a full length interview at Buckhurst House (Cranleigh Hall in the story Black Orchid) and the estate/grounds. And, *of course*, Matthew spoke of his love for - and work on - Dark Shadows.
I'll post more details once I'm told it's been edited into its final shape and it has a release date.

Really enjoyed taking a few moments today to read some posts at the Collinsport Historical Society including some commemorating DS' 50th by Rob Morris, Joe Lidster, and others. Also I think I may suddenly need a Dark Shadows lunchbox.

edit: By the way Robert, every time you say "six", I think it's "sex". Just sayin'. Damn - I forgot I was going to say 'six' to you over the Festival weekend.

I must have been tired. Or drunk. Let's say tired.
But I remember it now.

I seem to remember in Yes Minister the term "tired and emotional" was used for "drunk". As in "the minister was found tired and emotional after the party, and sitting in the gutter".

Another podcast - first of two this week from the 50th Anniversary event. www.collinsporthistoricalsociety.com/2016/07/podcast-shadows-on-stage.htmlPODCAST: Shadows on the Stage By ROBERT DICK Last month on the weekend of the Dark Shadows 50th Anniversary, hundreds of fans got together with original series cast members to celebrate the occasion. Big Finish Productions Dark Shadows audio range Co-Producer David Darlington, Production Assistant Robert Dick (that’s me!) and range actor/writer Matthew Waterhouse were in attendance to promote the range, meet the fans, and launch the anniversary releases “Blood & Fire” and “Echoes of the Past.” In the first of this week’s two podcasts from the event, we present the full panel from the Saturday afternoon - when Big Finish took center stage for half an hour. Sound quality will vary due to the live recording.
