It's an easy way to share audio clips on a social media platform, and more organic than using Twitter or Facebook for that purpose. It's not just trailers, there have been half hour stories released on Soundcloud, people don't have to create an account to have a listen and if they like what they hear then there's the Big Finish website to look at. The pre-credit scenes for last year's Dark Shadows Dramatic Readings were made available on Soundcloud. It's an alternate platform to promote the product Big Finish creates. Hip kids? Sounds like someone has been hitting the jive turkey and getting jiggy with the lingo

Most social networks, media sharing sites loose or lost money for many years, when Google bought Youtube it (Youtube) was a loss making outfit.
Sound cloud is used by a lot of people, but it's not trying to be hip, or appeal to kids, it's appealing to those that use sound in a professional or artistic capacity.
Why wouldn't BF use soundcloud?
