I love Whispers of Terror. Let me know if it holds up when compared to the new fangled flashy production (which I really want btw) None of those early audios sound as slick as would soon become the norm but as a concept and a production, Whispers holds up better than a lot of them. It remains one of my favorite 6th Doctor audios. Whispers is great and a clever story that plays well with the audio medium. I do love the fact that this is where BF start to 'repair' Sixie's reputation. When I first heard the initial scene with the Doctor and Peri in the TARDIS and it descended into 'bickering', I though 'Oh no'... Then there's a clever twist (can't remember the line) and the relationship begins to change and the story develops. Peter Miles being in this is also good...

Scherzo. This must be the... fifth(?) time I have listened to this. Up to this day one of my absolute favorites. It is extremely horrific (I am having a hard time thinking of another story in any medium that has such level of horror) and deeply emotional. Some people say that the Dark Eyes stories are dark, but they got nothing on this one. The Doctor is utterly unlikeable in this one, because he is at his most scared, helpless and vulnerable. Even stupid little Charley has more strength and optimism in this, until the Doctor smashes her down relentlessly. All this is helped by some very chilling performances. This is no audio for your relaxed Sunday afternoon. And while some audios affect my mood with their negative emotions, strangely enough, I really love this one.

More Legacy of Time preparation listening: Diary of River Song Series 3 (I don’t expect it to actually be relevant, just figured I’d use this as an excuse to revisit favourite River Song set)

I've been revisiting a few Lucie stories before purchasing the new box set. Today it's The Scapegoat, which is surreal, disturbing, and hilarious - Lucie really shines in this one.

Furthering my re-listen to Destiny of the Doctor with Babblesphere and Smoke and Mirrors, both of which I find delightful. It's lovely to hear Janet Fielding on her own, she's an impressive narrator and personally any of cast who play members of the Fifth Doctor's "family" of companions seem to be that way. I enjoy to no end their impressions of one another.

A first run today through the fourth series of 8DAs in the build up to listening to Lucie's further adventures - so aiming for Situation Vacant, Nevermore and The Book Of Kells.

Fourth Doctor: The Sons of Kaldor. Good story. Made me want to go rewatch Robots of Death. Funny that I didn't want to go back and watch it as much after Robophobia.
The Crowmarsh Experiment. Good in a way that makes you wonder whether you're dreaming it or not.

I'm as far as to the end of Night of the Whisper now with my Destiny of the Doctor re-listen (more excellent stories and audios). Listening to Night of the Whisper again it seemed to me like Nick's Ninth Doctor must usually have a bit of New Series goofiness thrown in that might color what some people think of it - there were some more serious parts where I thought his take on the Ninth Doctor was downright uncanny.

The Mutant Phase - my first proper listen to this one, and I'm enjoying it so far.

The Mutant Phase - my first proper listen to this one, and I'm enjoying it so far. This is another underrated story in my opinion. It often gets overlooked as it comes after The Holy Terror (which is fantastic for many reasons) and before Storm Warning (which is a seminal release for relaunching the 8th Doctor). I think it's aged quite well and, whilst a complex story, the timey-whimey elements would not be entirely out of place with the new series. Reuses the Thals in an interesting way and actually makes the Daleks appear weak and frightened. The American Roboman isn't so great...

More Legacy of Time prep: The Condemned and The Raincloud Man Two excellent releases there! I love The Raincloud Man. Don't forget The Crimes of Thomas Brewster - great fun and the return of Evelyn for her final trilogy...

Finished Memories of a Tyrant, and went straight on to Bloodtide. An interesting comparison between old and new Sixth Doc, and Peri versus Evelyn.

Halfway through the Mega. Katy Manning is fantastic! The story itself is alright (nothing mind-bending)- however, that very graphic scene of the Prime Minster being disposed of... not sure of that would have ever made it onto the screens. Even on audio it is quite drastic.

No great surprise, I’m listening to The Legacy of Time part 1 Lies in Ruins. Loving hearing Benny and River together.

Anyone else listening to 'The Legacy Of Time'? Nope, didn't think so... (Currently listening to the end of part two, and will be making a start on the third after lunch).
Yesterday and Monday I also, unsurprisingly, listened to 'The Sirens Of Time'.
