Did anyone catch last night's livestream? Ingrid Oliver, John Peel, George Mann and Paul Magrs(!!!) were all announced last night. I'm even more interested in attending now, and very impressed with how diverse the pool of guests is. Robert Shearman as well

I see they booked Karen Gillan for (Re)GenerationWho 3. I have mixed feelings about this. Obviously it's quite a coup and a great news for the con, but I liked the emphasis on the classic series. Oh well, I'll look on the bright side. More publicity is only good news, and this just means shorter lines for when I go to see Sylvester McCoy. Unfortunately the presence of New Who people will drive up the price of autographs for even the Classic/Big Finish celebrities. I notice there's one person on the program (I won't give the name) who is listing $25 when they were charging $10 at last year's Regeneration. $63 for Karen Gillan? No way. Insane. To people going to this convention for the first time, I would recommend avoiding the first-thing-in-the-morning autograph times. A certain Doctor was cold and aloof to me - and the guy in front of me - last year, and it was a huge disappointment even though I slapped down $40 for the pleasure of the signature and maybe a little friendliness (perhaps that was too much to ask). I feel like it was just not a good hour of the morning and that this Doctor hadn't fully awakened yet. The nice thing about this convention is that there's usually time to chat informally with the writers and the BF people. Last year I spoke to Rob Shearman, Nev Fountain, and Jason Haigh-Ellery. All very nice guys who gave free autographs.

First in the morning Autograph sessions are never a good thing, guests are always still waking up and trying to gather themselves, going to the second session is definitely a better way to go as they will be more awake and energized.

I haven't found that to be the case at the cons I've gone to. New Who people do charge a lot more, but I have been able to get autographs and "selfies" with Classic Who personalities at a more reasonable cost, even when New Who personalities were present at the same con. Don't know if that's different with Regeneration Who. Sylvester McCoy is one person I haven't met yet. He was down here for a con a couple years ago, but I had to work that weekend. Karen Gillan has been to several cons near where I live. I was never willing to pay the price she charges for photo ops and autographs, but I did stand on line to meet her one time when the length of the line wasn't ridiculously long. I managed to have a nice chat with her. Not a long chat, but pleasant. When Billie Piper was here, I split the cost of a photo op with a friend. Same when Alex Kingston was here. But I did pay the going rate for an autograph from Alex Kingston (can't remember anymore how much it was).

I'll be skipping the opportunity to get a Photo with Karen mainly because I rather get one with her with Arthur.
I definitely want to get a photo with Michelle Gomez and I am debating about Ingrid Oliver.
As for Sylvester I will get his autograph but might skip the photo and again wait for an opportunity when I can get it with him & Sophie.

Again, I wish I was going to this. Have fun everyone!

Lots of news recently. 2/3 of The Paternoster Gang are coming. Catrin Stewart (Jenny Flint) and Neve McIntosh (Madame Vastra). it should be lots of fun.
Current in advance prices for autographs and photo ops:
Autograph - Nick Briggs - $ 25.00 Autograph - Sylvester McCoy - $ 42.50 Autograph - Peter Purves - $ 22.00 Autograph - Ingrid Oliver - $ 37.00 Autograph - Terry Molloy - $ 25.00 Autograph - Richard Franklin - $ 22.00 Autograph - Jenna Coleman - $ 63.00 Autograph - Neve McIntosh - $ 42.50 Autograph - Catrin Stewart - $ 42.50
Photo Op - Nick Briggs - $ 25.00 Photo Op - Sylvester McCoy - $ 42.50 Photo Op - Peter Purves - $ 22.00 Photo Op - Ingrid Oliver - $ 37.00 Photo Op - Terry Molloy - $ 25.00 Photo Op - Richard Franklin - $ 22.00 Photo Op - Jenna Coleman - $ 63.00 Photo Op - Neve McIntosh - $ 42.50 Photo Op - Catrin Stewart - $ 42.50
Personally, I am currently planning on passing on paying for autographs or photo ops, but Captain Yates is tempting. There is also a note that Jenna Coleman and Ingrid Oliver will not be there on Friday, just Saturday and Sunday.

Hey theotherjosh and nottenst we need to meet up. Although I am also probably only going the Saturday & Sunday this year Jenna's autograph is really expensive but I really want to get her to sign a Victoria DVD. Decisions Decisions.

By the way, I talked with a convention organizer (for a different convention) and got some answers as to why the autographs/photo op prices for certain guests are so much and how they can attract certain people. As I understand it, the convention negotiates a certain minimum fee for the various guests. It is a guarantee than they will earn at least that amount through autographs, photo ops and the like. If they do not get reach that minimum then the convention will make up the difference. Once they go over that amount, I presume there is some split between the convention and guest. Presumably, they can use past results to help entice the guests to come.

I don't know what the time schedule is, but at the very least I am currently planning on going to "Big Finish: Story of the Story: Forever Fallen, from concept to conclusion" - that should be one prime opportunity to meet.

I don't yet know when that will be held. In the original correspondence after they confirmed it, they said they don't finalize schedules until about a month out from the con, simply because there are so many moving parts. I saw on Facebook that they'll be printing up the books in about a week, so I figure we'll know by the beginning of March. I'll be there all weekend. I plan to leave early Friday morning and depart on Sunday. Send me a PM if you want to coordinate outside of this thread.

Happy they have the guest spread out on many days since I won't be able to join on Friday. I added your panel to my schedule. Make sure you wait around so I can say hi.

Oooh, Andrew Cartmel is going to be in the small panel room on Friday. I was already planning to go as Whizz Kid and this seals the deal!

It looks like Neve McIntosh/Catrin Stewart are up against Robert Shearman or Paul Magrs on both Saturday & Sunday. Damn I hate conflicts.

Nice at least 3 BF Events a day.
They should re-name it BF Day USA!

I was there at the first one and I remember that they had a screening of the McGann movie scheduled opposite Tom Baker's Skype address. I was with a friend and she said "Well, they certainly made this an easy choice."
I had a dream last night where Nick Briggs was on a panel and someone said "Buck up, Briggs!" I think this dream has a reasonable chance of coming to pass. (Last time he was there, he said "We love stories" and someone in the audience yelled back "Subscribers get more!")

I think I'm going to try and come to this next year. Depends on funds. I've been wanting to come every year.
