Captain America: Civil War (NO SPOILERS HERE)
I thought Ant-Man and Ultron were average and after so many comic book movies and TV shows I was feeling a bit burnt out which the Davy G of 10 years ago would think was impossible - I used to dream of getting a quarter of what we do now. As you'd know from the thread on it, I thought Batman V Superman was almost entirely a disaster and the DC shows are variable so it's not been a great start to 2016 for the genre (the astounding Daredevil aside). Happy to say that Civil War is perhaps the pinnacle of ALL the Marvel films.
It's wonderful. It COULD be an Avengers film as some have said given the large extended cast but it definitely does complete the Cap-Bucky arc of the CA solo films and tonally it's very much of a piece with Winter Soldier in particular. I also think the lower stakes here wouldn't be what the public now expect in an Avengers film where a Loki, Ultron or Thanos is needed. There's no world threat, no evil genius wanting to dominate here. I won't say what Zemo's motives are but he's much lower key than your average Marvel villain. So while this is a film where Cap and Iron Man get to face-off ethically and physically more than once rest assured though EVERY Avenger gets a chance to shine and so caught up was I that I forgot a couple of them were going to be in it till they pop up. Especially one who is introduced sleeping in a van...great stuff. I won't say who.
So the biggies...Tom Holland and Chadick Boseman ARE Spidey and Black Panther. If, like me, you've liked most Spidey films but never believed for a second that McGuire or Garfield were school age then rest assured Tom Holland IS the young Lee-Ditko Peter Parker. He's also, as anyone who has seen The Impossible already knows, a damn fine young actor and holds his own against all these established stars. He's going to be a HIT for a whole new generation of Spidey fans. Boseman gives Panther all the nobility, class and dignity you'd want for the part. He gets a lovely arc. Paul Rudd's Scott Lang works, as I imagined, much better as supporting comic relief than main-role.
I really don't want to say too much but make no mistake - Chris Evans OWNS the mantle of Captain America here. When I hear people say you can't do classic patriotic Superman in 2016 it makes me sick because Marvel still have Steve Rogers be EXACTLY that patriotic, traditional and silver-age while also keeping him fresh and engaged. Some ideals don't age. I think people will also be a bit surprised how much Sebastian Stan as Bucky/Winter Soldier is in it. He's really co-lead with Evans and Downey.
Top drawer Marvel and a real shot in the arm. The fact that the Russos are moving up to the Infinity Wars is so exciting now. They can make "serious" without ever going near moody, angsty or mopey. Just fantastic stuff.
As always - stay both during AND after the credits. Not anything major this time but some lovely universe-building.

Civil War has become my all time favourite comic book movie, i left the cinema with my cousin & we were utterly speechless, the Russo Brothers know exactly what makes these movies work & combine great action, amazing fight scenes with quality storytelling, but at the centre of the story it has great heart & emotion combined with some shock twists.
Spider-Man was brilliant & Tom Holland nailed it perfectly, Sebastian Stan as Bucky/Winter Soldier portrayed a morally conflicted character & allowed the audience to empathize with his inner turmoil & Chadick Boseman as Black Panther had me very excited about this character & i can't wait to see his stand alone movie.
But for me Chris Evans & Robert Downey Jr poured great emotion into there characters of Captain America & Iron Man with there differing point of views which had me agreeing with both sides & took these movies to another level in terms of being character driven.
I have to simply rate this 10/10, Civil War did for me what BvS failed to do, it made me care about the characters & there fates & puts DC's efforts to shame.
P.S Marisa Tomei as Aunt May is just wrong though because no way should one leave the cinema saying Aunt May is a hot milf, a sentence i never thought I'd hear myself say.

My non-genre watching friend wanted to see Mother's Day, so I went. It was awful. I'll never get those 2 hours back. But it was nice to see her.

Bio Hunter. An intriguing Anime, would have been interesting to see where this went, but they dont seem to have made anymore
Body Bags. A great Horror Anthology, which a fair few directors getting cameos in it lol.
Krull. Such a Cult Classic. I always watch this when its one.
Dr Terror's House of Horrors. The first Amicus Horror Anthology. What other film could have Christopher Lee, Donald Sutherland (who was paid $1000 to take part) and Roy Castle alongside each other lol

I could go on and on but let me simply say, Captain America: Civil War....go see it. It delivers on every level. Black Panther enters the MCU fully formed and ready for his own movie. Finally, finally Peter Parker exists onscreen. What Marvel has done for Spider-Man makes the case for Fox just turning around and selling the Fantastic Four back to Marvel Films tomorrow. They get the characters and what makes them special. It all seems so simple while watching this movie. Just stick to the source material. Tweak where needed but there is a reason these characters have endured for over 50 years. Anyway, for as wrongly conceived & executed as Superman v Batman: Dawn of Justice was, Captain America: Civil War nails it. And this is also maybe as good as Robert Downey Jr has ever been. Like ever. Anyway, back to the beginning, go see it. 'Nuff said.

Getting ready to go see it again, this time in golf old 2-D, and the only complaints I have about it are maybe it has one plot wrinkle too many and the film, and the MCU films in general continues to lack a musical identity. I really wish Jerry Goldsmith or John Barry were still around because from Iron Man until Captain America: Civil War all the films are pretty boring musically speaking and either of those two gentlemen, Goldsmith especially, could do wonders for that deficiency. Yes, I liked the movie so much I'm really picking at nits.

Vendetta (Danny Dyer doing what he dose true the films follow a predictable format but the usual core actors are always watchable)

Second viewing of Captain America: Civil War, this time in 2D and while I missed the IMAX scope of the airport battle royale, I didn't miss the headache from the post-converted 3D effect. The movie makes my childhood superhero dreams a reality. Thank you Marvel. This is how you do superheroes.
