IT part 1- I enjoyed the original Mini series am torn about this one though i guess its closer to the book in its disturbance,Probably why i never read it again. Am a non Gore Man and am touchy about what i consider entertainment.I guess my mother and father were right-be careful what you shove in your brain it gets hard to budge. I gave up reading King years ago too. I finished off Dark Tower and then steered myself away for some reason.(and now i know why) But very very well filmed Interestingly though alot of his later books are less gorey as such

Stardust and Edge of Tomorrow.
I love Stardust- it just plays with expectations and common fantasy tropes and turns them on their head and goes off in unexpected directions. I also love all the "adult" subtext. This is basically a movie JUST about adult subtext. I think if I had watched this as a child and was rewatching it again as an adult, my jaw would drop in disbelief.
Edge of Tomorrow- I did read the Manga a few years back. I liked the original Manga. So I decided to finally try the movie. Well, it is not really a faithful adaptation, more like "We took the general idea, ditched the rest and put Tom Cruise in it". However, I love how the common "Tom Cruise the shining action hero" gets completely dismantled here. This was actually much better than I expected. I have never been a big fan of Cruise, but actually came to appreciate him more after watching some movies like "Tropic Thunder" where he has fun parodying himself. So yes, this has Tom Cruise in it, but this does not distract from the movie. Great timey-whimey action sci-fi fest.

Oblivion Intelligent sci-fi and action film, I enjoyed the mix of quiet mystery/solitude/romance with the full-on action sequences - stunning visuals and a very effective surround sound track. Enjoyed all the performances (though I'd hoped for more Morgan Freeman screen time than we actually got) and I liked the reveal of the true villain {Spoiler}even if an annoying bit of me did think 'Axos, done with technology instead of tentacles' but everything relates to something I suppose And I certainly wasn't expecting to hear a snippet from {Spoiler}'The Lays of Ancient Rome' so that was a bonus!

Hot Summer Nights
(Oddly formatted Drama supposedly based on true events. Imagine an Episode of The Wonder Years set in the 90s, but as well as the usual growing pains drama Kevin also grows Weed which he supplies to the local dealers)

Rambo: Last Blood Yeah. Could have been so much Better. Its half the Rambo film it could have been. Especially hearing about earlier versions and the scenes cut from the UK/US edition

On Monday I saw 'Ready Or Not', in all probability my favourite film of the year.
This evening I watched 'Rambo: Last Blood' at the cinema. There world, I have (finally) seen a Rambo film, are you happy now?! I have to ask through, are the others quite so... OTT?
Seventy-nine minutes before the credits rolled. Seventy-nine!! The first words out of my mouth were "... Is that it?" It was ok, I guess? I was expecting more, but it was ok...
'Could have done with being less OTT, a heck of a lot more development, character or otherwise (especially with Carmen & the traffickers).
I know it's a kill-fest action film, not a Shakespeare play, but it could have done with a little bit more subtlety when it came to the tunnels &, you know, if you're going to tease the death of the lead, COULD YOU ACTUALLY GO THROUGH WITH IT?!?!

Spider-Man: Far From Home for the fourth time. I am so glad the Marvel/Sony marriage with the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is intact for at least two more movies.
