Finished watching Good Omens last night. It was a hoot. I loved it. But I loved the book, so I am biased.

iZombie. I loved the first three seasons but the last two were terrible except for a few entertaining stand-alones.
The finale though has to go down as one of the worst I've ever seen.

The first two seasons of Legends of Tomorrow.
I actually wanted to watch this show. I started it hoping to like it. It's the first show I've wanted to watch that has completely let me down. The characters are genuinely stupid. As in thick-as-a-brick stupid. And the "stupid" character in the show actually has the most personality! And then, just when you think the baddies couldn't possibly lose, they become as thick as the protagonists and fail. The show goes for emotional moments, but they're almost always a result of the character's collective stupidity and I simply can sympathise with them when they could have so easily avoided the situations they end up in. Character development is ignored from episode to episode to the stage that I'm almost left wondering what the point in "developing" the characters is. And the number of times the leads should be dead only for the bad guy to have knocked them out instead has stretched credibility so far that I don't have a metaphor to describe it.
Aside from that, every episode is a "let's see what we can rip off this week" kind of affair. If there was at least a little bit of subtly to what they were doing it might be interesting, but they have their historical celebrity and then make as many jokes about them as they possibly can. It's almost physically painful at times.
And then there are the continuity issues. In a time-travel show only in its second season, you'd think they'd be able to keep on top of things (*deliberately looks away from Red Dwarf* - hey, at least it's funny!). In the season two finale a character performs an act that they literally do not possess the knowledge to do and saves the day. I see people complaining about plot holes, then here's the show for you. You'd have three field days!
I feel like I should say something good about the show. It's pointless to "hate on" something (which is something I don't like to do but this show has driven me too) and not at least point out a positive. Okay, some of the jokes are genuinely funny, I can't deny that. But it might be one laugh an episode, so it's hardly something to keep bringing me back for more.
(For context, I'm watching this with a couple of other people. I would stop watching it, but they are my housemates so it's not such a bad thing to actually get to spend some time with them)

I think you've missed the point that while season one is bad, after that they turned it into basically a sitcom that just happens to feature time travelling superheroes. Season two is still halfway to what it ends up as, they're not breaking the fourth wall every five minutes yet, but by season three it transforms into one of the most enjoyable shows on television.

Season two is still halfway to what it ends up as, they're not breaking the fourth wall every five minutes yet, but by season three it transforms into one of the most enjoyable shows on television. I didn't know anything about the quality of the show going into it, so "missing the point" in that the first season is supposedly bad is hardly fair. If the second season is a sitcom, I don't think it's particularly funny either (as I mentioned before). And if the show's just going to become self aware in further seasons, that can only mean (as far as I can see) the characters are going to realise just how stupid they are but continue to act in that way anyway, as they seem incapable of doing anything logical or sensible. And a show shouldn't have to break the fourth wall to be entertaining. I'm going to watch the third season as I still want to spend time with the other people doing the watching (and I don't really get to spend any time with them otherwise), but I'm far from convinced my opinion is going to change.

Finished season 2 and 3 of The Expanse over the weekend. (I had started season 2 several weeks ago, and binge-watched the rest this weekend.) Fantastic. Very well told story, great filming, acting, and music.
Also watched the first episode of Jessica Jones season 3. What a way to start!

Finally got around to watching the last of the latest season of Black Mirror. What the hell happened? The only of the three that felt like it was Black Mirror was the first, and that had its own weaknesses. The second did not feel in the least bit like Black Mirror and the third had only vaguely felt like it.

Castlevania.
I was not expecting this to be as good as it was. Warren Ellis has written some James Bond comics which have given us probably the hardest, coldest Bond we've seen so far. His adaptation of Castlevania follows in a similar vein, taking cues from both classic anime and Hammer Horror. Richard Armitage plays the lead, Trevor Belmont, facing off against against a shockly well-drawn and sympathetic Dracula (Graham McTavish), alongside the vampire's son (James Callis) and a nomadic magi (Alejandra Reynoso). The results are something quite dark and poetic. Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose, springs to mind.
Strong cast, strong writing, I'm looking forward to the third season.

Transformers The Original Animated Series Season 4 The Rebirth A great ending to the American series. Although wish it had been the originally planned 5 Episodes or even a movie as some characters get short shrift

Binge watching series 2 of Survivors (the original 1970s version). Hello again. I started watching series two of the 1970s iteration of Survivors. I couldn't get past episode 1. It was so unrelenting. Great drama but I'll need to steel myself to watch any more! Good luck, it is a great series.
