Very cool of Eva Myles reminding all the die-hard TW fans that without BF it would be dead in a Actor led broadcast format. Regards mark687 Eve Myles.

Well I guess this means no TV return for Torchwood but I'm still really excited. This is more like what I hoped for from the Torchwood range. One thing that's really bugging me though is that on all the product pages Big Finish are giving Eve Myles bottom billing, with Kai Owen coming after John Barrowman. Come on guys, Gwen IS Torchwood, put her second where the co-star of the show belongs. I'm not sure whether it's the same for audio, but "bottom billing" is pretty commonly negotiated-for for crediting of screen actors. The common: And Starring ACTOR NAME as CHARACTER is almost as sought-after as top billing.

No special billing around it at all, it's just a list of names and she's last on it.

Reading some comments on twitter some fans are so entitled
How dare they do Torchwood on audio not TV How dare they do Torchwood after Miracle Day How dare they do Torchwood without Ianto
If you don't like something don't buy it but don't pretend that your opinion speaks for all fans.

Does this box set mean I have to try and finish Miracle Day? Again.

Does this box set mean I have to try and finish Miracle Day? Again. It doesn't seem so. As long as you're caught up with the post-Miracle Day audios (Forgotten Lives, More Than This, Made You Look, Visitng Hours), you should be fine. Although this begs the question, are the Titan comics affected by / affect this at all? They're in the same continuity as BF, and take place post-Miracle Day.

Big Finish is adhering to a non BF/non BBC produced continuity? Really?

Big Finish is adhering to a non BF/non BBC produced continuity? Really? More the other way round, I think. But that was a key selling point of the comics, so it'd be a bit odd if the stories suddenly splintered after such co-ordination.

I can't get my head around that. I just can't. DON'T YOU WANT COOL THINGS? I can understand international fans feeling somewhat disappointed and not knowing about everything going on with the BBC at the momment, but not to that extent. It's more of Torchwood, FOLLOW IT THROUGH!

I have seen these comments too and it's makinkg my blood boil a little.....Some people don't know a good thing when they've got it! I'm pretty sure Barrowman's comic series hasn't garnered that kind of reaction.
Eve Myles sums it up best
Edit: Edward Russel's reaction
It goes without saying If there was any distant prospect of a TV return I doubt Big Finish would have got permission for this series.

A selling point that is utterly misleading. Don't waste your hard earned money on Titan's Torchwood range of comics. Duly noted. …are they really that bad? In the marketing the solicits promised it tied into the Big Finish audios and would feature the Committee. Instead it's a follow-up to the Exodus Code novel, which is first mentioned in any publicity in the Previously On of the first issue. If you didn't know who the new characters from that novel were, then you've only got an introductory caption and barely anything of meaning happens in the first four issues. I haven't read the most recent four. And I seek out good in stories like Day One (the one with the Sex Gas) and Cyberwoman.

I've seen it in one or two other places too--I'm really not sure where this idea that Mekhi Pfeifer is unattainable has come from. He hasn't exactly been busy since Miracle Day; the biggest-name post-MD credits he has that I can see are those Divergent movies, which have flopped to the point that the studio wants to give up on the films and try to make it a TV show instead...

Maybe Rex is a harder character to market because he was introduced in the not-fan favorite Miracle Day (personally I think it's a great concept with too many episodes to fill out), hence why he's not been around. Years ago on the podcast Nick and Paul Spragg (may he live on in our memories forever) were talking about Stargate, and said there would be little chance of them doing stories with the Universe part of the franchise because it wouldn't sell much. At the time Stargate Universe wasn't popular among fans because it was the last major thing in the franchise and significantly tonally different from SG-1 and Atlantis. Maybe there's no narrative reason yet to bring Rex to Cardiff to work with Gwen, even though a development at the very end of Miracle Day would surely deserve following up. Rex's transition into immortality reminds Jack of when he first got it, and he tries to coach Rex in handling the positives and getting him ready for the downsides. That'd be more than enough to make the character interesting for me.

I am not sure that BF can just ignore what happened at the end of season 4!!So it will be interesting to see how they deal with it!!!!!

If you mean what happened to Rex then we can just assume it wears off once his body has replaced his blood supply (I'd have to google how long that takes, but it isn't long).
