Like the Gallifrey: Time War announcement, there's not much to be going on at the moment, save for the cast and release date of March 2018. That said, I think this release could be rather special. New Earth, specifically New New York, has proven itself to be one of the most interesting and well setup civilisations in Doctor Who. I think there's a lot to be mined out of it.
I wonder if this could be the beginning of a range dedicated to planets and places? I'd like to hear more from Akhaten, for example.

I agree this could be interesting. I wonder if the Doctor will feature in these stories tje way he does in Churchill years?

I think this is one that I'll get if it goes on sale in the future.

It is the one that I have the least interest in, at least until we get to hear more about it.
Also it is currently putting me off ordering the other two as I try to decide if it is worth £17 (bundle compared to the individual releases).
Now I wouldn't even be thinking about the order if it was - Classic Doctors : New Earth !!

I never really found New Earth that interesting a planet. It's just Earth with some subtle futuristic elements added in. A few flying cars here, mood drugs there...
This set needs the Face of Boe for me to even consider picking this set up in a sale. It feels too random at the moment.

From the outside this would appear to be the toughest sell but I also wonder, since there is so little established continuity and no well known characters involved, that if this is the one where Scott Handcock and company are really allowed to go to wild and tell some great stories. It is for the most part a blank canvas and that can be a really good thing. I need some more details but the more I think about this, the more curious I am about it.

Not sure if Scott is involved in this one or not. He's not directing at least that would be Helen Goldwyn. Yeah since there is so little information on this one so far and it's something brand new it's a wait and see. I'm not not excited for it, I just don't know what to expect. I have to say while I haven't pre-ordered this one yet it's probably the one I am most curious about because it's a completely blank slate.

I saw that Scott isn't directing but it looks like the three things announced today come under Scott's purview as producer. Or I could be totally wrong. Anyway, I'm just saying this one has the chance to be the most interesting of the three.

I don't even get why this is a thing. But Audio Watchdog, you might be right. Not a pre-order for me but I'll keep an open mind when it comes out.

New Earth was an absolute lynchpin of the RTD era - that world is covered in "The End of the World", "New Earth" and "Gridlock" (all hugely significant episodes). This isn't as random an idea as it first seems. And it's good to see Anna Hope back in the BF fold.

I'll keep my eye on this one. New Earth itself isn't exactly that much of a draw for me - I'll need to hear more about the set before I commit to buying it.

I wonder if The Macra will show up again. Definitely the catfolk. Possibly the Trees, and maybe even The Face of Bo. Cassandra, any of the other races/faces from End of the World. The Ood maybe. Whole potential for stuff. Plus you can have BF characters like Benny and the Graceless twins show up as well. This could be quite excellent. But yeah, I wonder if the The Doctor is going to figure in to this at all...

Nope, New Earth's new to me. I'm just War Master and Gallifrey-ing!

Peladon is important to the Pertwee era but I would still consider it pretty random if Big Finish announced a Tales of Peladon set.

Peladon is important to the Pertwee era but I would still consider it pretty random if Big Finish announced a Tales of Peladon set. I'd love it. It could make a good political release exploring our own planet's current politics through those on Peladon. It would still be pretty random though and would require exciting cast announcements or a very good trailer for me to be interested. Maybe if they got Ysanne Churchman on-board as Alpha Centauri.

So would I. Intrigue and double-dealing with a stormy, deadly Peladon backdrop. Maybe David Troughton could be involved, perhaps Jane Goddard as Alpha Centauri ... ... in fact, a whole new batch of alien delegates could be brought in as a possible satire of our current political turmoil, much as the Pertwee stories said similar things about current affairs in the 70s. That would be more interesting to me than Tales from New Earth. As ever, though, if the reviews are good, I'll probably buy it.

Yeah this is an interesting development. I wonder if Yasmin Bannerman is playing a different branch of the Tree of Cheem, given that Jabe was dead by the time of New Earth.
I also wonder if Doctors will appear in any of the stories, but it could be cool to just have a Gallifrey-style story with episodes and arcs and main characters rather than the anthology-style of Churchill/Classic Monsters/Doctor Chronicles.
River manages to have an arc every time, but by nature of her being a time traveller, they're always universe-shattering things. A New Earth seriescould tell small stories.

BF have already released two Peladon stories using the characters and world from the original serials. I would say it would be a very short jump from that to a Peladon spin-off. It would certainly be no more "random" than The Mahogany Murderers spawning Jago & Litefoot.
