Has anyone ever talked about New Earth since 2006? Yes, because Gridlock was broadcast in 2007. (Captain Jack was, of course, a major part of the New Earth story arc...) Oh yeah.... You shall forgive me for forgetting about that one. XD

that's the problem with putting him on the Cover. DT''s "official" Fan Page is promoting it now, I mean there could be cameo and this is serving as a backdoor introduction for a BF original Companion in the form of the Devon character?

I can't say this set leaps out at me as something that absolutely needed to be done. I can remember some of the characters but with the best will in the world, a face in a glass tank isn't perhaps the most exciting alien ever and 'moisturise me' isn't really up there as a villain's catchphrase. The sentient trees are the one exception for me as a really memorable creation and that was partly down to the original casting and performance.
I'm not running down the new series for the sake of it; there have been many great creations but I just don't think the New Earth stories rank alongside some of the others, like those new series creations we've seen in the CDNM sets.
(On which tangent, it would be great to have CDNM3 - I did read and appreciate the explanation of the continuity problems with using some of the other 'monsters', but hey!, this is 'Doctor Who'. I could tolerate a lot of memory wipes and wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey to explain why Doctors Four to Eight can't remember their encounters with the Ood, the Silence, the Eaters of Light, the Clockwork Droids, etc.)

Having Doctor Who in the background implies he's gonna be in it.

Having Doctor Who in the background implies he's gonna be in it. It certainly implies the 10th Doctor or the actions of the 10th Doctor are part of the story. I don't know that it says more than that.

I don't know that it says more than that. It's plausible David Tennant could be making a guest appearance as the Tenth Doctor. The full cast isn't yet announced, and this needs all it can get to reach out to people.

Do they have plenty of new series material though? I'm not sure they have. The thread asking what other new series spinoffs they could do is pretty thin on solid ideas. They didn't have much Classic series either. They're done Torchwood, so I am surprised they haven't done SJA, either with the kids or Jo. Yeah, I'd definitely buy Sarah Jane Adventures Companion Chronicles over this.

Kinda random, but if you didn't know anything about the Who franchise that would be a rather confusing/mildly creepy cover...

I beg to differ. It's a picture of the tenth incarnnation of Doctor Who, as played on TV by David Tennant. As Target books would say.

This isn't Target books, this is Big Finish. You are just being pedantic for some tiresome reason I have yet to fathom.

Ecclestone's image is on the cover, he's not involved, the 9th Doc is though, is that false advertising because its a performance piece? as I think it will be a similar case here of DT not being in it but the 10th Doctor is .

The difference with the Doctor Chronicles is that they are advertised as narrated audiobooks, whereas this is being promoted as a full-cast audio drama.
