Honestly, I generally love most of Who.

The Dominators acts as a cure for insomnia and has a rude joke. The Dominators doesn't need defending. It is a great episode on its own merits. It's a drearily boring story. I couldn't get the whole way through.

I think it's fantastic that every story has someone who thinks that. I can't say I agree with you, but I don't have to; that has no bearing on how much you like it.

The Dominators doesn't need defending. It is a great episode on its own merits. It's a drearily boring story. I couldn't get the whole way through. It must count as the longest story for myself. I bought it on VHS in 1994 and could never remember how it ended. In 2002, whilst revisiting lesser watched stories, i decided to give it another go - only to find the tape was still at the end of episode 2. Eight years to complete and three episodes of Troughton Gold (well Bronze maybe) sitting on the shelf the whole time. It seemed to have got bypassed by new additions to the collection and forgotten about. If it had been a six parter as planned we would never have had the bonus intro to the Mind Robber - and that's perhaps the problem with the Dominators - not that its bad or even poor, just that it gets outvoted when it comes to viewing choices. Ditto most Who really- rankings are often an order of preference more than a scale of Good to Bad.

The Dominators doesn't need defending. It is a great episode on its own merits. This is a correct statement The "But we're ON the island" part is worth the time alone. Also always nice to see Brian Cant, and there's some lovely Pat-Frazer interplay. From a fan of the 60s comics POV, seeing the Quarks in their only story is also a bit of a big deal given the plan for them to be the new Daleks in the strips.

In defence of Paradise Towers(Which I give 2* when I'm in a good mood... ) Sylvester McCoy shows the Seventh Doctor’s most playful and humorous side and comes over well. The building looks great, sets and location filming blending to create a convincingly run-down ‘paradise’ where the problem isn’t just the building, it’s the Architect. And in a story not short of what I think is poor and/or OTT acting, 'The Rezzies’ are the exception. Two wonderfully written and performed comedy cannibal ladies out of 'Hansel and Gretel' meets 'Arsenic and Old Lace'. And they want to eat Mel. (I like audio Mel very much, btw!)

In defence of Warriors of the Deep(Another 2* story for me) There's a great stunt sequence when the Doctor appears to have drowned. (I'm not being sarky about the Doctor, just admiring the stunt! ) Tom Adams is especially good as Commander Vorshak. Mat Irvine’s undersea model work is excellent (look out for the fish and bubbles on one shot), as are the convincing sets by Tony Burrough; bleakly functional, sometimes double height and skilfully reused. A highly quotable and unintentionally ironic closing line from the Doctor!

The Doctor, The Widoe and The Wardrobe
I really don’t like the bulk of this story but that final scene where the Doctor goes to see the ponds is just perfect!! It honestly makes me cry

I always felt that the Doctor was just teasing. He and Jamie were close enough that they could playfully tease eachother like that without anyone getting offended.

Eh, I always thought it was rather mean, actually and out of character for The Second Doctor. I always felt that the Doctor was just teasing. He and Jamie were close enough that they could playfully tease each other like that without anyone getting offended. After all, much of it is about context: Which looks pretty damning as an isolated quote, but it's hardly accurate. In context, it's not said with much vitriol, nor in earnest, but as a way for Sarah to overcome her panic and pull herself clear. All of which she does, coming out swinging. And of course, the Doctor is very proud of her for overcoming her fear and they both get a nice chuckle from it. Familiarity is important. If the Doctor and Jamie were strangers who didn't know each other, that would be a different story.

I loved Robots of Sherwood. Loved the Robin Hood theme. Thought it was lots of fun. Really don't get the hate for that episode.
