Anyone care to share any thoughts on Treasure Island, The Wizard of Oz and The Martian Chronicles?
Probably going to get the UNIT and Stage plays stories as well.
Was hoping some of the CC's and Excelis stories would be included as well...

Was hoping some of the CC's and Excelis stories would be included as well... Yeah, I was expecting Excelis in the last one, let alone this one! They can hardly be massive sellers, so I have been wondering why they're not selling out (especially since they haven't been on sale for years - I've been keeping an eye out since 2015 and not seen it go up once...).

Treasure Island is a good one, haven't heard Wizard of Oz and Martian Chronicles was underwhelming (Big Finish didn't produce it however, they just distribute it). The Stage Plays are good, at the very least a historical curios of the 60's, 70's and 80's. The Excelis soundtrack is in there. I've got to give a shout out to the Unbounds, well the Unbounds minus Exile. If you haven't got them, get them.

I wish Big Finish had done this several years ago when Stargate, Robin Hood and Highlander licenses expired. Get rid of stock, give customers a last chance to get the CDs and downloads, and squeeze the last bit of money out of them.

Interestingly, Unbound's 5 and 6 aren't included in this sale...

Interestingly, Unbound's 5 and 6 aren't included in this sale... On one hand, bullet dodged. In another, that's a Rob Shearman story not on sale.

But the Excelis bundle is permanently discounted to £15 including 'Plague Herds'. One of those bargains that are hidden here and there on the BF site, like Benny series 1.
OT: 'Treasure Island' is excellent. Not least for the chance to hear Tom Baker playing the villain for once, with an audio wooden leg and parrot.

I rarely check it, and the AUD conversions have usually been pretty bad when I have If that's the case I'll probably pick it up by the end of the year (at which point I hope to be completely up to date on all releases Doctor Who except for the Main Range because, you know, that's the most expensive thing to get... )

Anyone care to share any thoughts on Treasure Island, The Wizard of Oz and The Martian Chronicles? Probably going to get the UNIT and Stage plays stories as well. Was hoping some of the CC's and Excelis stories would be included as well... Treasure Island is very charming, with a lively Tom Baker at the heart of it all. It's solid; a touch rushed in the second half, but a fun listen.
The Wizard of Oz, however, is... not good. It's put together like a 1930s radio drama (very stagy, with the feeling that everyone's just standing there describing what's going on), and I found it to be a lackluster listen. A real pity, since Marc Platt's often one of my favorite writers!
Haven't heard The Martian Chronicles, myself, so I couldn't speak on that one.

Interestingly, Unbound's 5 and 6 aren't included in this sale... Means their already low stock (based on last time)

Would like to put a word in for UNIT. One of the best, most underrated series BF have produced. You might come to it for Courtney and Tennant but you'll stay for the glory that is Choudry - one of my favourite BF characters.

Egads, what a time to be short on cash...
While I was hoping to get Pathfinder Legends on physical CD one day, this sale tells me that's not in the cards. Ah, well, I was able to pick up a few that I've wanted to get on physical CD (since the shipping costs have been such an issue for me).
Ended up getting an odd batch:
DW Unbound: Sympathy for the Devil (one of my top five favorite audios!)
DW Unbound: Masters of War Mervyn Stone Mysteries: The Axeman Cometh
The Confessions of Dorian Gray series 4 (luckily I got series 1 & 2 awhile back, since that set's gone!)

Was hoping some of the CC's and Excelis stories would be included as well... Wizard Of Oz should have been great - before it came out I had hopes to get lots of Oz adaptations - but it's a letdown. Bad pacing, dodgy performances and a script that's a bit all over the place. Treasure Island is much better. At the time I ordered the CD mostly because pre-orders were signed by Tom but I'm glad to own it regardless. Don't own the CD of Martian Chronicles as I was happy wit the radio broadcast. Didn't feel the need to own it again. As above it's not a BF production they're just selling it so completists might not feel as compelled to own it.

Martian Chronicles was dramatised and produced by B7 Media, and much like Blake's 7 A Rebellion Reborn Big Finish only distribute it. I find the book to be far superior.

Kingdom Of The Dead for £6.50 delivered is an absolute steal for any UKers. That and the first full cast season are absolutely amazing. The Book of Temptation guest stars Daphne Ashbrook, and David Warner is the villain in Kingdom of the Dead.
