Not a fan of Magrs style writing so I'll pass on this one.

See, if you showed this to me and then showed me one of the newer BF releases, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Is this part of the demanded format change so that there's a more cohesive whole?

Is this part of the demanded format change so that there's a more cohesive whole? Yes, these 2 companies do now (with the rollout of the newly revamped DW logo) seem to share a kindred artwork layout pattern. I suppose when trying to identify at a glance which company product is which is to ascertain whether it has the "Big Finish" insignia that currently all seem to be located on the *bottom center* area of their front covers.

This artwork is glorious? Any idea who the artist is? Looking forward to the story too... I loves me a bit of Wibbsey. Perhaps Susan Jameson to narrate?

This artwork is glorious? Any idea who the artist is? Looking forward to the story too... I loves me a but of Wibbsey. Perhaps Susan Jameson to narrate? It also appears to me to be a stellar cover. (I prefer it over both of the Big Finish FDA Series 8: Volume 1 and 2 box set covers.) I'm currently unaware of who the artist is of TWC cover. I adore Wibbsey as well. To be perfectly honest though, I'm slightly favouring a Richard Franklin narration for this one, with a rotation back to Susan Jameson for another adventure. Naturally, a full cast with Baker, Jameson and Franklin would be most desirable for the paying listener! Hopefully, Paul Magrs will drop in this thread to give us some insightful information.

I didn't realise the BBC made so many Doctor Who Audios. That Amazon page links to one with Colin and one with Katy Manning. Also looks like there is a new Second Doctor story coming read by Frazer Hines.
Are they generally any good? Seems odd to have BBC and Big Finish making basically the same thing.

These classic series audios are actually a departure for BBC Audio (who took over after former producers AudioGO went under) - before this year, the only one-voice stories they had released were of the then-current Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth Doctors and the only classic series content was the Hornets' Nest series with Tom Baker. It is sort of odd that these are basically Short Trips from a different production company, especially as they source their writers from the same Doctor Who EU pool. As for whether this recent run is any good, though, I can't really say. I've only listened to the stuff from back when it was handled by AudioGO.

Even his weakest stuff is enjoyable, at least out of what I've read/heard.

I wouldn't be surprised if the outpouring of classic series content is a "stopgap" before they roll out the 13th Doctor content, especially since the New Series novelizations allegedly served the same purpose. Still, any excuse for more Paul Magrs Doctor Who is a good excuse – I love the Nest Cottage stories.

An Eighth Doctor story!?
Have BBC audio done anything with the 8th Doctor before?
As it says reader TBC I don’t suppose anyone knows who is narrating?
If it is India Fisher it will be an pre-order, but as it is the BBC would it have to be a new companion or would they be allowed to use a Big Finish companion?

Technically Destiny of the Doctor was a BF/BBC Co Production and the 8th Doc tale in that used charley and in the days before BF BBC Audio released both the novelisation of the TV Movie and a Short trip collection called Earth and Beyond both of these were narrated by Paul McGann,

Imagine if it had one of the old BBC Books companions in it. It won't. But imagine!
