NEXT WEEK PREDICITON: - Criss-Cross trilogy - The Nightmare Fair - The Last Adventure Ooh so close this week! A little less this week than in others, but everything on offer is very high quality - The Criss-Cross trilogy is absolutely worth scooping up on the cheap. NEXT WEEK: - We Are The Daleks trilogy - Original Sin - UNIT: Dominion
This is the least confident I've been so far and if it's A Life of Crime, Nightshade and the New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield, I'll kick myself.

Hoping for UNIT Dominion because I missed the previous sale and I have been told it is quite good.

It will be interesting to see what they do for the last two weeks - I think either week 9 will be a War and Ninth Doctor sale and week 10 will be a Tenth and Eleventh Doctor sale, or week 9 will be a general 'new series Doctors' sale and week 10 will feature various spin-offs (for example the first volumes of Counter-Measures, Jago & Litefoot, UNIT etc).

The Destiny of the Doctor release for the Sixth Doctor was the only thing I don't have. So I got it.

Yeah, I was wondering what they’d do with only 12 Doctors (counting War) and only 10 weeks as well.

That's roughly what I'm expecting. No matter what they have to get through three more episodes of Destiny of the Doctor. I do think they should put one of the War Doctor sets on sale. Like War Doc 1 & Ninth Chronicles with Night of the Whisper? Then Tenth Doctor Adventures 1 & 2 with Death's Deal & The Time Machine? Maybe??

I just needed two stories in the main range. Last week in the fifth Doctor offer I got Waters of Amsterdam to fill one gap. I'm hoping for You Are the Doctor next week so I can complete the set.

Ooh, I hope not. I have my fingers crossed for a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT for 11 and maybe even 12.
But what you're theorizing makes sense, definitely
Anyhow, nothing for the week 6 offers for me So I crumbled and bought the last few Charley/Sixie stories I didn't have at full price. Seemed a shame to break momentum.
Big Finish. They have me participating in their sales even when I'm not buying what's on sale. Handsome devils, they are.

I was expecting Week 9 to be a Tenth Doctor Sale and week 10 to be everything back on sale again from the past few weeks to be honest.

Has anyone who has bought 'The Last Adventure' in the past any thoughts? I have heard from some who have been disappointed by it, yet others praise it. At £25, how does it rate? I watched season 23 back in the day and would feel short changed if Michael Jayston's Valeyard was not prominently heard throughout, but merely talked about with the occasional appearance.
What is the packaging like? I have not dipped into the book format releases so far, as I suspect rightly or wrongly that they amount to lots of photoshopped images in a hard back cover. Right or wrong?
Thanks in anticipation.

Agreed, the Valeyard is quite prominent in the set. I'd recommend you pick up "Trial of the Valeyard" to accompany the set, though it's by no means required I loved the set; it's honestly not Big Finish's best technical or most inventive work but I felt the emotional payoff (Spoiler! The Doctor dies ) really resonated with me Though be warned the tones of each story vary somewhat wildly, going from psycho-horror to 80's sci-fi to Victorian playhouse-gothic to techno-babble romp. Stubagful once joked on YouTube about his imagination getting whiplash from a Big Finish boxset, and that joke could apply here!

Thanks - I have seen the images on BF website. My curiosity concerns the textual content. Does it discuss/analyse the stories or is it just the usual Vortex behind the scenes with writers and cast material?

The idea of shifts in tone appeals to me, but would like to feel that there is a strong interlinking thread like Season 23 as opposed to connecting at the last reel. Cannot abide techno-babble on Audio though (the rest sounds a good mix), as I always zone-out and without visual compensation, lose the plot threads. About a third of BF output of late suffers too much description for my liking. Am I too fussy I wonder? Reading Time-Scale reviews, I suspect I am not alone. I want straight ahead theatre/radio play dynamics as opposed to verbose world building or cleverer-than-thoh twisty stuff. Will probably get it though - Colin Baker never sells short with 'Old Sixie' and it makes up for Sylvester 'regenerating' in that Harpo Marx wig....
