The four stories are absolutely connected - but I can't explain how without spoilers
I agree on techno-babble, but in this case it's critical to the overall plot in what I ultimately found a satisfying manner (though your mileage may vary)

Has anyone who has bought 'The Last Adventure' in the past any thoughts? I have heard from some who have been disappointed by it, yet others praise it. At £25, how does it rate? I watched season 23 back in the day and would feel short changed if Michael Jayston's Valeyard was not prominently heard throughout, but merely talked about with the occasional appearance. What is the packaging like? I have not dipped into the book format releases so far, as I suspect rightly or wrongly that they amount to lots of photoshopped images in a hard back cover. Right or wrong? Thanks in anticipation. I enjoyed it very much. I was not disappointed and I thought it was really good. I certainly got what I had expected and it was worth the price.
Only the story with Charley as companion is a bit weaker (and I am a big Charley fan!) the other stories were great (I especially liked the first and the last one).
The Valeyard has some really good appearances and he gradually becomes more and more centre stage with each story.
I only got the download version, so no idea about the physical copy.
Not sure exactly why some people would have been disappointed by this release, but I am aware that some people are notoriously hard to please...

Thanks - If it takes me back to 1986 again it will be money well spent

I was disappointed by The Last Adventure, but it’s worth £25 definitely. The first story is fantastic and the last is pretty good. The actual packaging is lovely. Certainly worth the discounted price; it’s never going to be cheaper.

I liked the set and the stories and the Packaging is smart and if discounted to 25 it would have been definitely worth it i did get it though when it was first released.

NEXT WEEK: - We Are The Daleks trilogy - Original Sin - UNIT: Dominion This is the least confident I've been so far and if it's A Life of Crime, Nightshade and the New Adventures of Bernice Summerfield, I'll kick myself.Well everything was in that post but I was only 1/3 on the actual guess and 2/3 on the kicking. Next week feels harder but I have to guess... so... The Complete Doom Coalition The Company of Friends River Song 1

'The Last Adventure' arrived in the post today. I like the fact that BF has sped up it's deliveries from when it used to take a fortnight to get things in the post.
Very nice packaging it is too for the money. Will look forward to starting after I have listened to 'The Peterloo Massacre'

Nothing for me this week, but I expected that i'd already have all of 8's releases.
It occurs to me - a teamup of 8 and 13 would be really sweet, since they seem to have similar problem-solving styles. But 13 would bring more extroversion, would be higher-energy, while 8 would be somewhat more subdued, grounded and level. But I feel like these two would still prod each other forwards; wouldn't find reasons for conflict or hold each other back the way some Doctor-teamups go. They'd make an awesome duo!

Ok guys - I'm really excited for next week! I squinted at my toast for five minutes this morning and then I saw Christopher Eccleston's face so I'm pretty sure that's a fool-proof sign we're going to get a FANTASTIC announcement
