Hello again.
Unfortunately, Tuigirl it is the same in the UK. Our main parties just assume that we will vote for them. The incompetence of politicians, the very real disconnect between the Westminster bubble and the rest of the country is a direct cause of Brexit.
It is easier to focus on short term populist attention-grabbing ideas than concentrate on addressing major problems within a country. A lot of the problem here is the adversarial nature of our legislative body.
When all our current administration is interested in is who gets to lead the party and the government what hope is there?
I too fear that future elections could cause real danger for moderate citizens. It is precisely these situations where people have to get out and vote in whatever way opposes the extremists of whatever persuasion they are.

Today marks ten years after I saw Sylvester McCoy in 'Little Shop Of Horrors' (meeting him afterwards)... Huh, how about that.

An older friend of mine posted on The Book of Faces an old advert from Adelaide, Australia my hometown. 1982.. Peter Davison in conjunction with the BBC and ABC (Aussie version) came down for a huge promo tour. Just knowing that he was at the shopping mall which is a 3 minute drive from my house made my day LOL. I was 7 back then and lived on the other side of Adelaide. He also confirmed Tom Baker came down to our state at least 3 times, I remember one when he was an ambassador for "Keep Australia Beautiful", an environmental initiative still going to this day to remove rubbish from all our beaches etc. Good ol' Petey D and Tommy B representing (my doctors)

Hello again. Feed me Seymour...! Out of curiosity Melkur, which character did he play? He was Mr Mushnik. My parents & I hung around afterwards so I could meet him (I have a picture with him somewhere). I got him to sign my copy of DWM's '200 Greatest Moments' special* and 'The Apocalypse Element'. At the moment I'm watching the film adaption of the musical (director's cut with the proper ending, of course ) for the first time in a long while... * - I've also got Peter Davison, Colin, Paul & Chris to sign it as well (I nearly met David 2yrs ago after a performance of 'Don Juan' but didn't bring it with me as I didn't want it to get lost/stolen & didn't think I'd be able to get it signed...).

I don't know if this made my day, but it was certainly...something...
I got back from a walk in the park at the lake a few minutes ago. While I was down there -- no word of a lie -- a freaking bird flew into the back of my head. And then after I'd continued on my way, maybe 3 minutes later, ANOTHER bird flew into my head!

I know quite a few ground nesting birds do that to defend their nests... and of course Australian magpies. My guess would be you were close to a nest hidden somewhere.

Too right about the magpies! There was one that used to nest in the same place every year right in the middle of my walk to college. Every morning and afternoon it was a game of dodge the magpie, else you could end up with a bleeding head (like one of friends... I became very wary of the birds after that...). It didn't matter how wide a birth I gave that damn bird, it still came after me. I even walked over a hundred metres parallel to my normal path and the same bird came swooping over at me from the same direction. More than a little annoying, I can tell you

More than a little annoying, I can tell you I remember standing by a church just before nightfall, sallow orange-purple on the horizon and the street cardboard cutouts of shadow, staring down the road at the traffic. Little square patches of light meandering between the trees. At one point, a car came out in front of a truck, an exchange of horns was made and one of the taller trees burst outward like a cluster grenade. Magpies in their legion disturbed from their rest. The sound... And the sight... It would've given Daphne Du Maurier a heart attack.

Not sure if you would be any help if you completely wreck your body, too. Can't your parents really not organize somebody else to help them?
I am following your story and I am really not sure if this whole situation is a) fair or b) healthy for you. At all. I know, I am the same that I always think everything is my responsibility and I also am a great victim for getting shamed into doing things... but your body is right now telling that you are close to breaking point.
Is there any chance at all for you to be able to look after yourself first?
Sorry if that was too personal. I am just worried about you, that is all.

TBH my dad's short term memory means he can't drive so reliant on my mom & i, i rushing around & probably overlifted shopping or carrying something heavy like a hoover. Hopefully i can rest it tomorrow & Sunday, it's little easier since the treatment just sore & inflammation & hopefully be ok although got follow up app next Friday.. Thank you for caring, it ain't fair but then again life isn't fair, battling bipolar & depression plus the extra stress with my dad this has come to slow me down. I just feel angry what happened with my dad i know bot his fault but feel like I'm the parent now having deal with day to day stuff & running about but nobody offered help none dad's friends & i certainly ain't going to ask.
