While it's not S12 specific, Michelle Gomez would love to come back opposite Jodie www.digitalspy.com/tv/a27039800/doctor-who-michelle-gomez-wants-comeback-jodie-whittaker/I think The Doctor Falls was a perfect end for her, so I'd be happy to see a new Master if anything and even then not for a good while yet. Interestingly, Michelle did say when she left the role that she couldn't see herself doing DW without Capaldi and Moffat so I guess she's had something of a volte-face on things.

Not sure if you guys have seen this already.
Honestly, not sure about this. So are we supposedly going back in time to the Saxon era? Will this be a backdrop or are we going to see Simm? Not doing a very good job in not crossing timelines there.
This is potentially opening up a whole new can of worms for the critics of The Chibnall era to pick apart. I hope there is no less than subtle political commentary on general leadership abilities involved. Doing the Saxon thing a decade before Brexit was fine, but now? Talk about stirring sh**.
So yeah, my first thoughts on this. Of course it might be a red herring or be completely amazing. But for some reason I am not keeping my hopes up.

I would suspect this might just be an act of satire in the lead-up to the local elections next month.

Well, to revive a tradition, it's tally up time on Series 12: -10 episodes long. -Broadcasting in early 2020 (date TBC). -Ed Hime returning as writer. -Jamie Stone is directing Eps 1 and 5 (block 1) and Lee Haven Jones is directing block 2 (Eps TBC). -Ep1 is set in/involves WW2, spies and Occupied Paris. -Stephen Fry will be a guest star, as is Love Island's Jordan Ring. -13 will get a new 'dark' costume. -A story will be set in Sheffield and involve the police. -A story will be set in/involve some type of barbarian culture. -RUMOUR: The show may be broadcast on Saturdays. -RUMOUR: Vinay Patel and Gareth Roberts may be returning as writers. New writers will be Victoria Asare-Archer and Prasanna Puwanarajah. -RUMOUR: Chris Chibnall MAY be stepping down as showrunner. If so, Jodie MAY leave with him. -RUMOUR: There may be a traditional series arc. -RUMOUR: There may be a Xmas/New Year's special.

I wouldn't really put too much weight kn that Gareth Robert's rumour. His name on the prop could easily have been coincidence.

So, Asare-Archer also wrote the new VR game: cultbox.co.uk/general/doctor-who-the-runaway-vr-adventure-plot-details-headset-informationSo either A) This is what the original rumour refered to and she's not on the S12 staff or B) This would make her the first writer since RTD's original team from S1 to have written non-TV Who prior to their first TV episode. Timeline-wise, this would've come first: she got hired for the game, then word got out she was good and Chris brought her on.

I love Gareth Robert's writing, but after his recent online activity, he shouldn't be allowed anywhere near the show for the foreseeable future, especially if Chibnall wants to continue marketing the show as diverse (despite having a truly calamitous ratio of living LGBT characters to dead ones) and especially not as the only returning pre-Chibnall writer. There are plenty of talented writers out there who haven't made themselves synonymous with hatred and backwards political views, both experienced and new.

Not that I agree with what Roberts has tweeted, but should only blemish-free cast and crew members be invited to contribute to Doctor Who? If so, this considerably limits the creative field.

I don't expect anyone to be blemish free. However I think that if he's doing it there should at least be some sort of apology from him.

There are plenty of writers who haven't spouted transphobic vile on Twitter, the majority of whom are probably far more talented than Robert's.

Perhaps I should repeat my sentiment that 'Not that I agree with what Roberts has tweeted' before casting the net of conversation further afield. Of course he should issue some kind of apology, instead of his reference to being watched by the 'rainbow police.' Other comments, including the one about how even a Doctor Who fan's mother wouldn't miss them if they died, are also spectacular in their nastiness.

Interesting survey from the BBC's research wing about "re-imagining" The questions after that include "Are there any events in history that you would like to see a Doctor Who adventure based around that hasn’t already been featured?", "Are there any un-filmed or un-produced scripts from previous series of Doctor Who (excluding series 11 with Jodie Whittaker) that you would like to see brought to life in a different way (eg. through books, magazines, gaming, events etc).", "Are there any moments from these previous series of Doctor Who (excluding series 11) that left you wanting to know more or what happened next?" "Are there any moments from these previous series of Doctor Who (excluding series 11) that left you thinking “what if that had happened?” that you would like to see brought to life in a different way? (eg. through books, magazines, gaming, events etc). For example “What would happen if Rose Tyler didn’t get lost in another dimension?”", "Which of the following Doctors would you most like to see more adventures of?",
