I’m on board with those three! All written by their original authors, so should have scope for some extra bits and pieces and changes, and the addition of some ordinary Tenth and Twelfth Doctor adventures.
It’s nice to see them tackle a two parter at last. Really interested to see how that goes.

Huh! The mystery initials (well, 4 out of 5) were author names after all!
JM - James Moran F - David Fisher P - Peter Harness R - Rona Munro V - (shrug)
I like that these Targets are prioritizing novels by the original authors. It means focusing more on the middle episodes of series rather the showrunner-penned premieres, finales and specials - and those midseasoners are often the ones that have potential beyond their timeslot!

I looked for these on Amazon and they had listed the Stones of Blood and the Androids of Tara. I guess they could be junior novelisations like with the Pirate Planet and City of Death, but the first two already had shorter novelisations before David Fisher expanded them for audio. I reckon they'll just be printed version of the audio novelisations that Fisher wrote for BBC Audio. I checked and you were right.

Still no sign of the "Unearthly Child" re-novelisation, then? Is it lost forever in the Audiogo insolvency?

I do wish we had a couple more New Series ones but those are a good selection. The Fires of Pompeii is one of my favourite episodes, it'll be nice to have Rona Munro writing another Target novelisation, and then we have the first New Who multi-part Target adaptation - not bad!

For the Stones of Blood and the Androids of Tara, will they use the original Target covers, the audiobook covers or will they tackle a new cover from scratch?

I'm not knocking the late, great, Chris Achilleos in any way, but I dont like the idea that seems to have taken hold in BBC books that his style is the definitive Target house style and is the only style that can be used going forward. For someone of my age who was buying target books in the 1980s Andrew Skilleter and Alister Pearson are the definitive target artists. I'd like to see covers by them

Pearson and Skilleter are who they should have had on call from day one.

According to my Amazon pre order info, the Zygon novelisation has been delayed a year to July 2023. The other novelisations are still due July 2022

I think the rt for the new covers is lovely but the logo really doesn't work, broken over two libes that way. It's quite a thin font so it doesn't dill the space or have eye-pop, and "WHO" being so small and thin... there's a lot of dead space and empty white. If "WHO" had been about 30-40% bigger and nudged up a wee bit it would have dealt with the dead space issue and been more eye-catching. I think it's okay as a one-line logo but split over two lines here, it doesn't work. As I say, I really like the artwork, though.

I think it worked well as it was on The Witchfinders, particularly with the foil effect, but it does seem slightly different on these covers. I’m disappointed they’ve not gone with the McGann logo across the board, as they did with the previous batch. Jodie’s logo presumably won’t be sticking around for much longer so this batch will stick out, either because they’ll revert back to the McGann logo or use the replacement one across the board for future batches.
