I love the sound of this so much! Using the idea of a word count within the actual story is such a cool concept so I’m very much looking forward to this. Congratulations to Eugenie!

Congratulations, Eugenie Pusenjak! What a great way of turning that dreaded word count into a source of jeopardy for the characters as well. Incredibly clever!

I would be so dead without ever finishing the interview.

Just adding my voice to those congratulating Eugenie on winning the competition..and to express the hope that "Free Speech" will pave the way for her writing to be seen and now heard by a wider audience..😊

So, seems like Eugenie isn't on Twitter or FB (not that I blame her), but I did find that she's Aussie and won a few short story awards, like 'Every Cloud Productions Award for Best Mystery with History Story' 2019 and 'WAtoday's Celebrate Summer' 2018.

Hi everyone, I've recently joined NotTheBigFinishForum, and wanted to give a huge (and belated) thanks to all your kind messages of congratulations. It's been a surreal and exciting experience writing for Big Finish. I hope you all have just as much fun listening to the story as I did writing it. Also looking forward to being part of these forums going forward!

And it looks like I get to be first to say "Free Speech was terrific and highly original. Hope we get to see more from you in the future." 😊

I've been reading the script to just enjoy the rhythm and cadence of the characters. The tongue chip is a lovely storytelling, well, device. Simple and extremely effective. I love the contrast between Amyius and Helena when they first meet. Won't say too much for those who haven't heard it yet but, likewise, definitely hoping to see more in the future.

Eugenie Well, well, what an unexpected surprise. 🤩 A wholehearted congratulations, once again, for delivering a fantastic Tenth Doctor Short Trip, with a very warm welcome to the forum, Eugenie! Since your winning entry features my personal favourite incarnation (if you'll excuse the "vanity issues"), my three consecutive submissions also happen to feature him. Think of it as the King Midas golden touch of sorts. If you're interested, you can check out the anthologies on the Divergent Wordsmiths website, including two which I've co-edited. And by the way, in case you haven't noticed, I also started a separate thread on Free Speech yesterday. PS: When does Free Speech take place in the Tenth Doctor's timeline?
