This is an alteration of my overrated/underrated threads.
I find this story to be bad, having rewatched it recently, and The Caves of Androzani is better.
However, like with me not thinking The Caves of Androzani is the best Doctor Who story ever, I don’t think The Twin Dilemma is the worst story.

Yes, yes it is. I watched it in the Twitch streams hoping for some so-bad-it’s-good material. Nope.
Colin Baker tries, bless him, but he alone can’t salvage it.

Its an interesting take on the new Doc Companion relationship but its leaden with a dire plot!

It is a sub-par offering by the production team and it hasn’t had its reputation enhanced any by being the story that follows the universally-adored Caves Of Androzani

The novelisation is the best way to experience it imho That novelisation is so bizarre. In the first few chapters alone, Saward provides a complete history and so much exposition for everything that is so much as mentioned. Ranging from the academic history of the twin’s father to the brewing of his favourite drink. If anything, I think it shows that Eric Saward missed his true calling as a writer of fluff material for RPGs. |

Writing fluff for bad RPG's - his writing is terrible, his most recent novelizations are proof that he should never be allowed to publish again. |

That may well be true and I won't argue the point, but given that the only other way to experience The Twin Dilemma is to watch the TV story, I stand by my point that the novelisation is the best way to experience this particular story |

Resurrection of the Daleks and Revelation of the Daleks were so painful they had me wishing I had never learned to read. |

EDIT: I think the only valid way of watching this is having the audio commentary on. Colin is always value for money and at least with the commentary, there is some fun to be had
