I've found it's not as terrible if you skip everything but Peri and Colin.

I think the fact that’s it’s one of the few television stories Big Finish hasn’t made a sequel story to speaks volumes.
Mind you, I’m not complaining I really don’t want to see the Further Adventures of Romulus and Remus anytime soon.

I'm afraid I think it's bad on just about every level. Malcolm Clarke, who usually provides a musical score that is unusual but scene-enhancing, misses the mark here; the sets are clearly very much on the cheap (churlish, I know, to knock classic Doctor Who for lack of budget, but sometimes, it's impossible not to be distracted by it); the performances are lacklustre throughout, except for Keven McNally who would have been a good companion and given Peri a bit of support. The design of the aliens is, sadly, laughable - I mean, really bad. Only Seymour Green makes a good impression through the feathers. As for Mestor - what were they thinking?
Having the new, burly Doctor shouting at and then trying to kill his diminutive companion Peri is a huge miss-step, especially as he never comes close to acknowledging what he's done or apologising for it ("I'm the Doctor whether you like it or not" isn't a knowing wink to the audience from someone who were routing for underneath it all, but rather a sneer to all concerned).
I liked the model shots. Other than that - yes, it really is that bad.

It’s at least not the worst Doctor Who story, at least in my opinion. For me, the worst Doctor Who story ever is Warriors Gate.

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

Just watched for the first time after only seeing clips and avoiding based on popular opinion.
Having enjoyed Colin's Big Finish journey showcasing the Endgame for Sixie and seeing the revived series embrace difficult regenerations, I viewed this with much more sympathy for the Doctor's challenging and violent behaviour.
Colin and Nicola are brilliant, episode four when the Doctor shows utter distain for the villain is top notch Doctor for me.
The so called bad elements are no worse than anything else the show has risen above in the past. Low budget sets and Monsters, no worse than the poor monster we saw in Caves of Androzani or the bubble wrap in Ark in Space (both acclaimed serials).
The Twins are both bad actors, and basically nothing but a thread for the plot.
I hugely enjoyed Colin in this one and will gladly come back again for a rewatch.

I saw a pic last week online of the 2 people in question at some sort of convention.. Apparently there was enough interest in meeting them/getting photo's etc to warrant them there. I can't really complain too much as I am sure my twin brother and I wouldn't be much better at acting even though we got A's for high school drama before it became actual "work".

Fair play if they can get gigs nearly 40 years later. Their acting in The Twin Dillemma was bad but many child actors struggle to begin with, then improve over time, the 1st Harry Potter film is a good example of this, by the end of that film series the acting of the cast greatly improved with each film. Also bad child acting is something that continues in the revived Doctor Who series, it's been a while but I remember the kids from Nightmare in Silver being a little wooden. Perhaps Sci Fi and Fantasy is a bit tricky for child actors to get the right balance with. The performance in The Twin Dillemma from the Twins is easily ignored, they don't appear too much, Colin's always good value in the show.
