Enjoying my new copy of Thunderbirds - The Comic Collection Vol. 2 and have just read Blazing Danger and Mission to Africa for the first time after much hunting around. They're even better than I thought they would be.

One of the local comic book stores was doing a couple of deals today, one of which was graphic novels at US cover price. Needless to say I've got some reading to do. The best bargain was the paperback of the Green Lantern event Godhead, usually $50 NZD but $25 USD! Thank god Mr J lost his medication.

i read future quest 3 what a blast
batgirl and the birds of prey rebirth what a mess there are way too many version / continuity being maxed in here in a very messy way.
i kind of feel like DC is like a sports team that needs a new GM. they are soft rebooting this thing over and over and marvel is still on top.
steve rogers captain america 3 so so issue great ending

The new Torchwood from Titan Comics. It's just been a quick readthrough so far, but it looks like it follows on from The Exodus Code novel from a few years ago. This is a problem for me because it's been a couple of years since I read it and didn't know who half the characters in the comic were. Not a good start for what should be a good jumping on point for the franchise. If Exodus Code was anywhere in the marketing, it was only in relation to having been written by John and Carole Barrowman as well.
There's also too much happening, too many characters and not much plot. I'd much rather have one group get the focus this issue and focus on another group next issue. At least to flesh the characters out for new readers as like I said before, it feels like Exodus Code is definitely prerequisite reading just to get a handle on them here. I'll stick to the audios if this doesn't change, at least they aren't continuity heavy.
EDIT: It's also been a few weeks since the first issue of Supremacy of the Cybermen #1, so unless that's getting released next week for a last chance with me it'll be highly likely I'll stop reading it. My advice for Titan would be to cut down on the Doctor Who and Who-related output and focus on getting the core issues (Tenth, Eleventh, Twelfth) out when they say they'll be out. At the moment it's four core titles (9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Doctors) and three mini-series (4th, Supremacy of the Cybermen and Torchwood, with 3rd Doctor starting soon), very few of which are hitting intended release dates.

According to my local comic shop, Issue #2 of Supremacy should be out next week. That's the date they have. He was pretty annoyed as well as it came down to delays with the art.
If thats gonna be the case, why not have the mini series all done before they start releasing it. Thats what i'd do anyway
How many issues is the Torchwood mini series gonna be?

Just read Eleventh Doctor 2.11 - it's a WAR DOCTOR STORY!!! And, for those people who think BF has made him too "Doctor-y", this time he's brutal, but also still self-destructive and snide.

I have the same thing with The Question. He (or she, for Montoya) never lasts, so I gouge while I can! Andreyko is a half decent writer but quite a pain. I've seen him on Screen Junkies Movie Fights quite a bit and he's insufferable. I lie his work with WOnder Woman '77 though.

Whenever there's a Movie Fight with him, Hal Rudnick or Nick Mundy I automatically stop watching if I started at all.

Earth 2: Society #15. The biggest issue I have is with the artwork in the first half, I just can't get on board with Tony Harris's take on the characters as it's too cartoony (for context, the title is currently doing a storyline where the fate of the planet is at risk). Looking forward to the Annual at the end of the month though.

Hal and Nick are just playing characters really, as witnessed by earlier episodes featuring them being much more subdued. The joke that Nick picks stupid things to fight over wore thin a long time ago, I'm glad he's seldom on. I prefer the show when it's not full of loud shouty types. Landis is another matter. He's just unwatchable. It's like the worst case of adult ADHD imaginable. He's also, for someone with some serious geek cred, prone to make massively uniformed statements. He's got talent though, so while he's a bit of a....whatever....he did give us Chronicle and American Alien.

Fine, he wrote some well received stuff but that does not give him permission to be a dick.

Serenity: Leaves on the Wind. A great continuation for the characters and fantastic story. The only niggle I had was with how Simon was drawn, didn't look much like Sean Maher to me (and I've met him in person, got the photo to prove it).

I've read "The Shepherd's Tale" and I bought "Better Days" but haven't read it yet.
