Recently, over the span of a little over a week, I listened to the Main Range's 'Drashani Empire' trilogy for the first time in a good couple of years, which I found myself enjoying (though I will say that, whilst justified, the extended length of 'The Shadow Heart' did drag a little in places for me...).
You know, when the boxset range starts up next year, I wouldn't say no to the occasional multi-Doctor cross-through set every once in a while...
EDIT - No, I didn't forget about 'Legacy Of Time', whatever gave you that idea...?

Jago and Litefoot Vol 2
It's 'Hammer' time for the Infernal Investigators...
2.1 Litefoot and Sanders
As gripping as Justin Richards' opener for Vol 1 (and the range), this is J&L's 'Dracula' and it's sometimes genuinely disturbing. Poor Mags. Great story - and David Collings! {Spoiler} And poor Ellie! That was a real shocker the first time I heard it. 2.2 The Necropolis Express
'Frankenstein' down the line in the mysterious Dickensian marshlands east of London, mad scientist, the walking undead, every box ticked to great effect!
2.3 Theatre of Dreams
Brilliant, imaginative story with possibly a nod or two to the late Hammer classic 'Vampire Circus' with its travelling vampiric show, evil 'fairy tale' atmosphere and mirror of visions. My favourite of the set (and it's another top quality set) by Jonathan Morris.
2.4 The Ruthven Inheritance
'Dracula' meets 'Jekyll and Hyde' with just a touch of Poe for the grand finale, like one of those famous audience-pleasing multi-monster Universal horror films, 'House of Dracula' etc. A story which brings the house down, to end to another great volume - before a splendid cliff-hanger to set up the next!

I've spent the last ten days or so in The Early Adventures, flipping back and forth between the First and Second Doctors with a first playthrough of all of Series 4, 5 and 6. (The Home Guard, The Dalek Invasion Of Winter, The Night Witches, An Ideal World, The Outliers, Entanglement, The Morton Legacy, The Crash Of The UK 201, The Wreck Of The World).
So as the planets have aligned and the sun is actually shining on a Bank Holiday Monday in the UK (😮), I'm wallowing in the final story of this run - Daughter Of The Gods (and what a terrific story it is!) - in a deck chair with just a glass of ice cold larger for company. Bliss. 🙂

Jago & Litefoot Vol 3
Following two essentially 'horror' themed volumes, with Vol 3 we're reminded that J&L do inhabit the Whoniverse of science fiction, with their own very special twists...
3.1 Dead Men's Tales
Lots of fun with our three friends in 'fish out of water' situations (yes, pun), highly dodgy accents (and outfits!) and a spooky storyline behind the jollity. With hindsight it's like a dry run (yes second pun in one line) for Justin Richards' 'Jago & Litefoot & Strax'.
3.2 The Man at the End of the Garden
A surreal, complex and practically magical tale, a sinister twist on the world of the wonderful fantasy novels of E.Nesbit. Every Matthew Sweet J&L is different from practically everything else, including his other stories, and for me they are all highlights of the range.
3.3 Swan Song
A scientific ghost story of loss and love; a masterpiece by John Dorney and for me it's among the most memorable episodes of all J&L.
3.4 Chronoclasm
All things must end, in Time... Andy Lane gives us another great finale before a well-known voice steps out of the Dark...
(You may get tired of me saying this! but it's another brilliant volume in this superlative and sensational series!)

Jago & Litefoot Vol 3 (You may get tired of me saying this! but it's another brilliant volume in this superlative and sensational series!)
And you’ll be pleased to know number13, that if only gets better from here on out! Spoilers! In fact I'm on a long-overdue re-run from start to finish. I try not to listen to J&L too often because I love this range so much, I want to preserve its specialness, if that makes sense? So doing this demanded a special occasion and Vol 14 finally getting an audiobook release is that occasion!
Your post made me consider (again) which is my favourite volume, what are the high points and are there any lower points? With most ranges I can say quite easily - 'X is my favourite, don't like Y so much and Z went to a charity shop because I couldn't even be bothered to sell it on Ebay...' But with J&L I can't do it! Yes there are stellar high points, yes there are two half-episodes where I think the tone wasn't quite perfect, but it's simply overall wonderfulness for 13 volumes (plus assorted extras totalling the equivalent of another couple of wonderful volumes.)

Absolutely. Very much a case of lightning in a bottle when it comes to this range and it’s easily up there with the greatest spin offs Doctor Who has ever produced.

MR: Terror of the Sontarans, with it's fantastic soundscape (very Blade Runner-esq in places).
Edit - I really like this 7th Doctor and Mel trilogy.

The Robots of Life (rather than “Death”, do you see? Do you? I know you all do, but I couldn’t resist asking!) as the start of my Robots relisten ahead of Vol 4 coming out. I’ve just started and the dialogue so far is excellent. Particularly the supervoc trying to make small talk and banter while interviewing Liv for a job at the hospital. Her disbelief at all this is comedy gold! Just had to share.

Jago & Litefoot Vol 4 4.1 Jago in Love
Great start to set 4, the classic mix of humour and spookyness and various threads being laid for the set. And a surprising amount of sadness too, poor Henry. (And much further back in his life, poor Prof.) I enjoy these episodes which further flesh out our friends as people beyond the infernal and investigating, and this is an excellent example. 4.2 - Beautiful Things And it is a beautiful thing, a work of art with cracking dialogue, a particularly sinister villain, moments of comedy, tension and pathos plus a great literary guest character. As usual, I'm Wilde about John Dorney's writing.
{Spoiler}Highlight: Oscar Wilde leaves Henry astonished and awestruck after an awesome arsenal of apparently ad-libbed alliterative ammunition aimed as an amazingly ambitious and accurate auditory ambuscade!
