I finished my relisten of the further adventures of Lucie Miller today. I listened to this after a bit of a break from BF, whereas the first time I was listening to BF left right and centre. I have to say it really benefitted from this and now I can’t wait for volume 2!

Blood of the Time Lord is gracing my ear holes this morning. Start the week with a bit of Tom is always the best way to start the week.

Torchwood One: Latter Days
A well rounded set all in all. A nice balance of comedy and tragedy.

Not BF, but wandering around town today I listened to 'Death Comes To Time'. Whilst I'm not going to say that it's not strictly the 'best' DW audio in the world, there are worse ways to spend three hours in a Thursday afternoon...?

Finished Peladon. Truth of Peladon is exactly the type of story which made me fall in love with Big Finish. A lot of the stories have become samey of rely on some gimmick. But this one just has some great storytelling, pacing, messages and unbeatable performances. We even get a lullaby sung by McGann. It does not get better than this.

Had a little citybreak to Edinburgh and got through a lot of listening (4 hour train journeys, with an added delay courtesy of sheep on the line)-
9DA: Back to Earth Finally finished this set. Auld Lang Syne continued this range’s trend of good original character dramas. The False Dimitry was an alright sci-fi take on a bizarre historical episode, though did feel it moved a little too fast pacing wise.
Torchwood: The Last Beacon I can’t really remember Owen and Ianto interacting on TV (other than threatening to shoot each other in Captain Jack Harkness) so this was an interesting dynamic. I liked the ending where Owen’s disregard of Torchwood’s rules actually works out well for someone rather than his own ego.
Donna Noble: Kidnapped! This is an oddity of a spin-off. The stories are very much average Who stories but elevated by having Donna in the lead with Nat the companion. Sylvia gets some good material in the mix too. Nat is definitely the standout here, getting some nice fleshing out beyond her introduction. All in all, this is a fun diversion.

In honor of David Warner I’ve started doing a re-listen of Sapphire and Steel. The second installment Daisy Chain remains one of the very best things Big Finish ever produced. Joe Lidster hit it out of the park.

Wandering around town today, I listened to the Companion Chronicles' Quadrigger Stoyn crossover trilogy. Whilst I will say that 'Luna Romana' was a little long in places, as a whole, it was all a decent way of spending part of the day!
Whilst I don't know if I would strictly want one 'week in, week out', if they had the right story for it (and weren't doing it for the 'sake' of doing it, like some of the boxset selling-points recently) I would be interested in seeing the occasional multi-Doctor 'cross through' arc every once in a while...
