60th marathon: Second Doctor - Fav: The Glorious Revolution
“But this time it’s my choice.”
I didn’t have a massive selection to choose from as I just don’t own many Second Doctor audios, but I do like this one. A well paced tale of Jamie treading on his own history. The framing story also serves as a neat little epilogue to Jamie’s travels.

Finishing off the Tenth Doctor Classic Companions set. The final story, with Ace, is by far the strongest on the box. And yes we need a modern Ace spin-off badly.

I met Sophie Aldred yesterday (see the "Conventions" thread in this forum). She swears black n blue she has not had that phone call yet..
Fingers crossed!

60th marathon: Third Doctor - Favourite: Landbound
“Time to set sail for the cosmos.”
I wanted to incorporate a few other ranges to this, so went with this one. This is a neat little way of showing the Third Doctor’s development, and how imperfect his interactions with others could be though he always means well.

60th marathon: Third Doctor - Event: The Sacrifice of Jo Grant
“Destiny? Pah! I never did have time for that. You take one day at a time and do your best to take the most of each and every one.”
A nice tribute to the Third Doctor’s era and particularly his relationship with Jo. Cobbling together a gizmo to save the fabric of Time and then going for lunch, all in a day’s work for Three. I really do like the scene where Jo realises he’s not a vegetarian; it’s a nice way of depicting how role models’ aren’t necessarily as perfect as we might remember. And of course in the end, the Doctor defies destiny to save her.

Rough day, rough night. Now feels like a good time to relisten to the MR's Master trilogy. Either that, or Planet of Dust. Really got a hankerin' for some Beevers, ya' know?

Over the past couple of weeks I've been listening to some of my favorite Companion Chronicles. I miss that range immensely. So far I've done: The Oliver Harper trilogy (some of the best of the range. Oliver was a great character and I love Tom Allen in this. Such a different piece of work for him. And Simon Guerrier showed what a master he is at intricate and powerful storytelling.), The Sarah Kingdom trilogy, The Jigsaw War, The Memory Cheats, The Rocketmen and Peri and the Piscon Paradox. I'll probably be revisiting a few more soon.

Y'all ever go out of your way to do something, then realize that it would be a really bad time to do the thing, but do it anyway because ya'd already come so far to do it? That's me today and Fffffffffffffffffff-- I am really regretting it right now. Really wish I could change out this godawful body of mi e for a new one, that functioned properly.
Really thought today's be better, too.
Anyway, suffice it to say I'm on my heaviest painkillers right now and am absolutely not in the right headspace to listen to any5hing, but my perception of time has slowed to such a snail's crawl that I gotta do something. So I'm gonna listen to Conflicts of Interest.

Same here! I'm going to do one per week so it can be like a proper 12-part series, and really enjoyed Aliens Next Door.

Yesterday I listened to the 3DA story 'Conquest Of Far', as the story it follow-up on (Planet OTD) finished airing 50yrs ago on Friday. Whilst I enjoyed it fine, at times it kind of feel like 'just' a hodge-podge of elements from it and 'Dalek Invasion Of Earth'...

Today I listened to Tochwood: Misty Eyes (not quite my cuppa), the first story in the new War Doctor set (good, solid start), and back in time to The Avengers Lost Episodes 4 - Hunt the Man Down (excellent). An early appearance from Tim Treloar, and he invests Frank Preston with every bit of meticulous character quirks as he does The Third Doctor.

I hope the sun comes out today, so I can do some more painting on the balcony and hopefully listen to something. Maybe I start on the Kate Winslet release. It at least sounds like something I might like.
