Dorian update:
1956: The Twittering of Sparrows Katy Manning gets some meaty material in a role very far from Jo.
1964: The Lord of Misrule It’s probably the weirdest status quo for Dorian but it works well
1968: The Enigma of Dorian Gray The man without a soul meets a man trying to give a computer one. It’s the kind of drama this series thrives on.
1974: Freya So this actually goes after The Abysmal Sea but I didn’t know that going in. Not a big deal as it’s a standalone monster of eve week, and it’s a nice dive into a very different mythology.
1974: The Abysmal Sea Another monster of eve week but focusing on a very different relationship for Dorian. No dramatics, just a couple no longer fitting.

Side stepping into Romana’s post-Warriors’ Gate mini era:
Stolen Futures I remember at the time of release getting confused in the logic of the mirrors here and assuming it was my rusty memory of Warriors’ Gate at fault. Having just watched it, yeah turns out there just is no logic at all. Anyway that aside this was an enjoyable dive into Romana’s dealings with the Tharils.
The Invasion of E-Space Anachronistic theme tune and big event plot certainly don’t make this a recapturing of Season 18 by any means, but it’s an entertaining attempt to inject some grand scale into a classic era. Romana oddly drifts away from being the focus in second half, but first with her reflections on Adric was nice.

The Worlds of Big Finish. Not sure what I was expecting, but it was a lot better than I expected. They did a good job of creating a continuous story line that involved characters from various Big Finish ranges. I really enjoyed it.

As the random list was put on hold until I finish reading "Dracula" and it will take a while
I decided to review the ones before:
The Paternoster Gang: Heritage 1
The Cars That Ate London is the weakest story in this box set. Most of the plot in The Factory is not interesting, and after I finished the story, I realized there were some characters I didn't even notice.
I will say that Fabian Solak is an interesting character
(6.43/10)
A Photograph to Remember is the best story in this box set
The Paternoster Gang as a group shines here in contrast to the previous story when some of them were unnoticeable, and it was very clever to put them near a similar yet so different group. It feels like a story that will make every listener even more like their favourite member of the Gang.
the mystery here is unique, and I was surprised to understand what happened
this story is the one that convinced me to follow that series (9.62/10)
The Ghosts of Greenwich is the story of the best guest cast
a bit long one, and don't read the cast list before if you want to enjoy the mystery.
but I think it is the best assemble in one story I have heard from Big Finish
(8/10)
The Curse of the Daleks:
Part one was good, but the story really clicked with me in Part two
I don't tend to like a Dalek story, but that was clever
the mystery, of course
Nick Briggs succeeded in keeping it feel like the 60s' overall and the narration was a good idea for that story
(8.71/10)

MR 199 The Last of the Cybermen
Sixie in the Sixties in a plot simply stuffed with Cyber-tropes and Easter Eggs and very timey-wimey indeed. Plus Jamie and Zoe and a lot of humour; I've heard it's not that popular a story but I love it!

Messages from the Dead
I do miss the Short Trips. This little story is a nice bit of character work to bridge the E-Space trio to the pair of the Doctor and Adric’s and is just generally a nice tale of the lengths the Doctor will sometimes go to for what others might regard as very small gestures.

Currently listening to the 2nd story of the new 5th Doctor boxset "The Dream Team".
I have 2 specific questions regarding the 1st story.
I will check the thread 1st to see if it's been discussed yet.

MR 200 The Secret History
I enjoy the First Doctor historicals a lot so it was great they decided to make the 'Locum Doctor' episode from his era such a story - sort of. Excellent TARDIS team and of course guess who was behind it all, tampering with Time.
The complete adventure isn’t really the style of any televised First Doctor story, with a sudden, startling plot shift taking it into territory that later Doctors would be much more familiar with – but still clearly inspired (at least in one dramatic moment) by a section of the genuine classical text ‘The Secret History’ written by the real Procopius! It’s cleverly worked in here along with parts of the true history of the age and is a reminder that ‘history’ and ‘fantasy’ were often blended by the Greeks and Romans in a way that ‘Doctor Who’ excels at. Obviously as fans, we know the Doctor's adventures in history are the true version.

Erasure
An interesting perspective on the Doctor via an early days Narvin. It does feed into the wider themes of Season 18 of the universe being past its sell by date, with the Bellascon scientists use of time travel to prolong themselves and the Time Lords’ paranoia that any threat may be their downfall.
