Last night I watched 'Can You Hear Me?' (in the background as I did other things), 'The Haunting Of Villa Diodati' (which I will admit to having drifted off in the middle of. 'Time allowing, I'm planning on watching it again on Saturday night after I get home from London) and the second half of 'The Celestial Toymaker' (with a hot chocolate... 'Seemed fitting to 'celebrate' finishing that particular story).
Before bed tonight, I'm planning on watching the first half of 'The Gunfighters'.

So far today I've watched part 4 of both 'The Savages' and 'The Silurians' (the latter's 50th). I might make a start on 'The War Machines' in a minute, but will probably only be watching part 1...

Got another classic DVD. Thought if I wear the kit and go to a convention called "Timelash", I should at least find out about the real thing. So yeah, I got "Timelash". Let's find out if it is as dreadful as everybody says. It seems this one has quite a reputation. At least it comes with audio commentary, and Colin is always fun and good value in these.

I really like it - and since I know we both like 'The Ultimate Evil' I think there's a good chance you might like this one, if approached in the same spirit as TUE! And the commentary is great fun.

I really liked Mindwarp. Yrcanos is fantastic. Although of course it would have worked better if anyone had actually communicated to poor old Colin that the Doctor's mind had been altered and he was not just feeling "a bit off". I found the commentary for this especially enlightening.

Castrovalva, after hearing how much The Haunting of Villa Diodati was reminiscent of this story I was curious to give it a try๐ค๐ So far I like it the regeneration weirdness with 5 was good and I like that we get to see more (and very strange) rooms of the TARDIS ๐ 5 has always been my least favorite Doctor (heโs just a little too bland for my taste, and as I am someone who rather watch paint dry that play or watch sports I always found his cricket obsession slightly annoying๐ค๐) but I am slowly starting to appreciate him more ๐

Castrovolva part 2, Peter Davisonโs very convincing at his post regeneration sickness! To the point where it was genuinely disturbing and I actually found myself worried about 5โs well being! ๐ฐ Also Tegan and Nyssa were fun to watch struggling to take care of 5 and carry him around in the barely levitating zero chamber๐ Those two do make a good duo!๐

So I watched Timelash. Oh dear. It is not too bad if you watch it with the "it's so bad it's good" glasses on. I think Colin's assessment is right and this is indeed not really a "classic". However, I really enjoyed the H.G. Wells character. He was great. Otherwise... I did not mind the tinsel tunnel so much, it was more the non-sensical plot and the complete waste of Peri as meaningful character. Poor Nicola. I will save the audio commentary for the next few days. And now I am re-watching the Haunting of Villa Diodati. I absolutely love it. It is so dark, atmospheric and creepy. Well done. Really looking forward to seeing the next episode tomorrow.
