There was a similar thread like this about the audios, so I wanted to pose the same question about the televised series. What hypothetical episode would you be most excited for in a series?
For myself, it would have to be a pure historical story - that is, no aliens or timey-wimey shenanigans, just history - and a musical episode.

A Multi-Doctor story prominently featuring all 13 Doctors including War.

At this point, I'd most like for Lalla Ward to return as Romana. Romana's place in the Time War and after is one of the biggest burning questions I have about the show. I also think it would be interesting if she regenerated into the Juliet Landau version and Romana became something of a recurring character on the show.
And it goes without saying that K-9 should be with her for all her appearances. 12 and K-9 would be absolute gold.

A Paul McGann series running in spring......not that they'll ever do that.
(Also, it'd be interesting generally if they did occasional specials with past Doctors, perhaps including original run. They've already had Tom Baker as the "Caretaker", hinting rather strongly that the Doc will revisit "favorite" bodies, etc., and of course all the new series Docs are still young enough to not need an explanation).

A good Gallifrey story.
One that actually breaks the tradition of making the main hub of Gallifrey seem so boring and make it a little more mystical.

I'd like a Gallifrey story that takes its cues from Lungbarrow and goes a bit Gormenghastic on us. I'd love to see the BBC put all their historical attentiveness into designing the twisting larder, oversized furniture and the cold hallways of the Capitol. A place that feels as dusty and ancient as it is purported to be and one that despite its sterility and stagnation is still thriving with in-fighting and lordly intrigue. As far as we can get from Arc of Infinity's overlit plastic letdowns please.

I'd love McGann for a Christmas special with Capaldi. It would be wonderful. Can't agree about making it a semi-regular thing though. The show nearly died in the 80s due in part to becoming a nostalgia act. The show lost millions of viewers before Michael Grade even joined the Beeb. I think the show needs to look forward as much as possible with the exception of anniversaries and Christmas eps where casual viewers like a "cosy" episode.

I don't even think they should have Paul McGann in a Christmas special. Leave all the Multi-Doctor stuff for the 60th anniversary then have one big fanjodrelly special with every Doctor, a few companions and maybe a few Masters too.

Also it's the 20th Anniversary of the TV Movie this year, and since series 10 is delayed to spring or summer 2017 I'm not convinced it would be a good idea to introduce the new companion this Christmas, the BBC will naturally want to push series 10 and it's return to a earlier timeslot, it might be better to keep the christmas special 'standalone' and a multi doctor story would certainly make it more special (McGann's Doctor isn't necessarily that widely known by more casual viewers so he wouldn't distract from Capaldi too much, 8 and 12 are polar opposite Doctors so it would be very interesting to see them interact...) and build hype for series 10. I vaguely recall watching an interview with McGann on youtube a few months ago, in which he mentioned bumping into Moffat randomly and asking whether another on screen reprisal for 8 was on the cards, Moffat apparently made a very cryptic reply along the lines of advising him to 'keep in shape' and said 'we'll see' (probably just being polite 'Nope never going to happen again Paul, sorry must dash!' wouldn't have been very nice)...although Moffat's always been a writer to keep his options open, and clearly a fan of the 8th Doctor I don't think a return is very likely (at least not on screen)...but I certainly continue to hold out hope (and I say this as someone whose introduction to McGann was Night Of The Doctor, I can't imagine what it felt like to see him again after 17 years...)...

It would also make Multi-Doctor stories less special when it comes to anniversaries and when they last did a full multi-Doctor story outside of an anniversary, it wasn't exactly a success (The Two Doctors). Much wiser to leave Multi-Doctor stuff until the show's 60th and bring Captain Jack back at Christmas instead.

You've probably guessed it a multi-Master story. I'd especially like it to include Alex MacQueen to make him as official as the others.

That would be totally mad. "I always dress for the occasion," "I know, love, but you can't wear a killer dress like me..."

There’s a horror movie called Alien? That’s really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you.

If we're talking about an episode to celebrate 20 years of the TV Movie, why not a story where an Atrocity of the Time War threatens 2020 San Fran?
The Eighth Doctor is already there but is captured by Earth authorities. The Twelfth Doctor and the new girl get split up. She finds out the Doctor is in custody and asks to see him...

The things I want would probably not work together in a single television episode, but...
I want more Ice Warriors.
A proper historical story, without aliens for a change. Or a story set on an alien planet where there isn't advanced technology. As with The Ribos Operation.
A follow-up story on what happened to Susan. Or Leela for that matter.
The Return of the Rani, with Siobhan Redmond. The McQueen Master (so he's solidly official) Or Benny for that matter.
A multi-Time Lord story for a Time Lord who isn't the Doctor. (Master, Monk, Braxiatel, Romana, or otherwise)
A new Krotons story. No, seriously. But building on the neglected ideas of their social manipulation in the original story. Yes, I'm really serious about this and if I had the time to pen a story with the ideas I've got in my head then I'd try to do so.
